Well I am down to two teams and I probably need to pick somebody to win this darn thing. Both Airport and SMCC have competed for the league title virtually every year this millennium. SMCC is rich in it’s football tradition and Airport has an excellent overall athletic program.
Airport finished last season at 7-3 and finished in a 1st place tie with Milan for the league title at 6-1. Airport was hit pretty hard with graduation but return 22 seniors to the gridiron this fall.
Offensively the Jets will put up points and will center their offense around their QB Daniel Jones and RB Jodeci Mays. The speed that these two possess will really put pressure on opposing team’s defenses. Look for Jones to throw enough to keep league foes off balance in order to set up the running game.
Defense has always been a strength under veteran coach Eric Redmond. Airport recorded three shutouts last year. The Jets pride themselves on playing good defense and this year will be no different. Michael Graves and Drew Nava are excellent linebackers who will give opposing offenses fits.
While Airport will be defending their league title this year and should have an excellent team, I can’t help but think that SMCC is just a little bit better. Look for Airport to finish 6-1 in the league and 7-2 overall.
One last thing to whoever said something about Airport being class A, Your Class C Falcons have more kids on their roster(41) this year than Airport(40). Not that it matters, but I think the school size should be left out of the arguement.

Not one recruit on CC but i guess thats jelously speaking cause cc is so good huh? haha you are pathetic
smash? what do you mean a little school like cc? Airport will win the league this year and they wont have to rely on one player to do so (tj) cc might be smaller but airport doesnt have to recruit other players to make themselves better
I went back 10 years because it WAS Giarmos 1st year, and Redmonds 2nd in the league. My point is that if we take the timeline back a few more years the 4 out of 5 goes both ways. CC is just on the winning side of it presently. I dont think either team will dominate the other, i just see airport winning.

Last five years League Play only since you want to go this route. SMCC 30-5 to Airport's 26-9. In 1998 (Giarmos first year) SMCC went 1-8 so out of those 20 league losses most game in 98.
You guys are gonna dominate smcc? smcc has more talent and more returning starters that airport does. thats why everyone is picking smcc. But go ahead and talk crap, probably airport players that are saying all of this.
Hmm, ya Airport is gonna dominate SMCC this year by longshot. Sure SMCC has some good talent but the Jets are a dominate force with excellent returning starters and some new fresh talent on the team this year. Airport winning leagues
Smash? get with it. The stats over the last 10 years, league play only, have Airport 57-13 to SMCC's 50-20. With each team winning 5 against the other in that time frame. We will see come week 6.

Since all you airport fans like stats heres one for you. 8-38. Your class A jets record against smcc all time. Smcc has won four of the last five so thats sad that a small school like smcc dominates you guys. I just cant wait. to airport people think you are untouchable because you finally beat cc last year. Just wait. SMCC will smash airport
Yes, Close will be the best Linebacker on Airport's team..Nava is tough as well..Close was hampered by injuries last year..the jet D will be FASTER then ever
SMCC will not beat Airport. Your best bet would have been to predict that they will have the easiest road come playoff time.
21-0, does anyone remember that score? That would be the score of Airport vs SMCC last year. And last I checked, Airport returns more players than SMCC this year. I don't know how Airport could not be picked to win the league, but I guess that just means the otus is on them to prove you wrong. SMCC is 2nd, Airport will be given great test by Bedford, SMCC, and Flushing, but look for them to persevere and be 9-0 heading into their 11th straight playoff berth.
Good pick SMCC is to strong to not be #1 great job… TJ Lovell wont let ya down
You forgot maybe the top linebacker on the team with Dylan Close
Well look forward to receiving a lot of comments for this mistake… Airport was not hit hard by any means from graduation… but i guess the Jets will just have to show everyone again with another stomping over the church boys
