Not a hater….you had a typo.
Teen is a GREAT player on a GOOD Team….wondering how you can call a 5-4 team so/so?…escpecially after 2 oh4 seasons in a row previous to this year?
Kinda smells like bias to me…. Isn't your title not a hater???
SITOFN
Please understand the Huron league is one of the last leagues that pick like this. You say all the coaches picked yes. But they only picked POY from the team that won the league.Mays and Weclowski where not even up for the award. Now how other leagues do it is like this. They call what howey & TJ won MVP the player on each side of the ball that most helped them win the league.Heres how it should have been done if your going to have POY awards.
HOWEY-all Huron kick returner-OMVP
TJ -all Huron LB -DMVP
JONES-all Huron QB –
MAYS -all Huron RB -OPOY
WECLOWSKI-all Huron LB -DPOY
Yes there yards where close but May's had more TD.And when they played head to head May's was the man.I don't care who won head to head thats a tie breaker for two teams who are tied.I look at what they did for there team when they played head to head.May's 300 yards 4 TD.Jones out played howey head to head. And Weclowski killed TJ on both sides of the ball when they played head to head.
they had the same amount of carries and yards but mays had more tds
SMCC did not struggle with Harper Woods. They toyed with them the first half but lost some focus in the 2nd half. Doubt that loss of focus will happen again. FYI-Pannone can play-it was the plan to let him rest last week so he'll be full strength for the stronger teams.
I agree Mays OPOY. I think he could have reached 2,000 yards if airport would have used him like GI did Teen.
I'm not a fan of Mays, I will not lie but I agree with your pick if your claim is that Howey was MVP of the league and Mays OPOY of the league, 2 different things. Teen was a good player on a so so team. I wonder what Mays does next year with a weaker offensive line??? or possibly a new coach??? i loved it when you asked "What would haapen if Joe Conner and Mayes switched teams? What about Sterling Wilson? My Grandmother could have gained 1000 yards with Airports offensive line this year.
elaborate ahaha?
I think SMCC will score 35 points on Blissfield. What the Royals will score is probably open to debate but I just don't see them scoring that many.
you might be. When i read the paper smcc looked like they had a hard time with harpper woods. the core did not refect the game i guess and i have been told.
the offense stuggled with ball control and the defense broke down. with lovell having only 7 tackles and pannone hurt. how can they stop a powerful offense in blissfield. and fubling a the goal like and on another scoring drive. will they take care of the ball.
your thought chris. on your post a little for us old timers
Good pick. He worked hard this year and had a great O-line that opened up some running room.
Huronleaguefootball Really why? I know you saw them play this weekend, but I've heard they are pretty good. Aren't they rated like 10 or Honorable Mention? I hear they have balanced offense. They would prefer to run the ball, but will throw when needed. Again, thats what I've heard.
What about, "Offensive poster of the year?" But, there are so many of us anonymous, you wouldn't know who to pick, would you?
Call me crazy but I think SMCC will blow out Blissfield.
Huronleaguefootbal I sure hope your right. I hope they make it that far! It's not gonna be easy though, thats for sure! Blissfield this week and then Clinton/Manchester winner.
Just for clarification on my OPOY. This is in no way intended to slight Michael Howey. I think he was the MVP of the best team in the league. I also think we will see him at Ford Field leading the Falcons against Montague in the finals.
Your right the stats were close but remember a couple of things. Mays sat out at times because his team was up big. His team also finished 7-2 and look what they did to GI.
I vote to call these awards..the "SCHULTZY'S" instead of the ESPY'S..nice job as always!! Jodeci is gonna be tough next year…OSEE
teen and mays had almost same stats both good back
