Airport is coming off of a two big wins with the most recent being over Riverview 28-20. Flat Rock is off to an 0-2 start after dropping a 28-3 decision to Grosse Ile. Airport won last season’s meeting 27-0.
Airport may be the class of the league right now. The Jets have an excellent running game as usual while throwing when needed. The defense has been giving up some points but those numbers will get better.
Flat Rock has had trouble finding the endzone the first two weeks. The running game is solid but mistakes have hurt the “O” in the redzone. Defensively the Rams are better than year’s past.
This used to be a big rivalry but Airport has dominated the last few decades. Airport will only get better and the Rams probably won’t have much to say about it this week. Pick: Airport 35 Flat Rock 14
EM…we're all good for sure!
Lots of surprises this week…but AIRstream with only a one touch spread against FR, at home no less, was a TOTAL surprise.
Jeff/View shoot out and Milan rolling were interesting for sure, but I could envision those going down….no eyesight for Air result though??
My post was a little rough on the score page, but mainly because I was so surprised by the result… I thought Chris was going to censure me on that one!!…
BLOG IS ALIVE and WELL, Thx Chris.
SITOFN
Didn't mean to offend you SITOFN, just a little razzin between friends. EM
Doesn't Flat Rock have a couple good players from last year's team? I know of Chickeral and Blosser but who else is there? Or don't they have the rest of a team to help them out?
Now if only EM would learn "comprehension".
Wow SITOFN! I'm proud of you for finally taking the high road and dropping the week long "comprehension battle".
EM….shame on you, I thought you were above those types of posts??
Stinky bait only works in salt water!!
Good Luck to all class acts tonite.

Potcova, McCormick, Bernard,Raisenen (kicking) and the Logan (Soph) domintaed line will be tough, but, Mike Chickeral is the most underated QB in the league. Hopefully this is a close contest, but the stats prove the opposite.
I am hoping that FR can make some interesting contests as the season evolves… Thinking Airport 28 Flat Rock 12

I like the 38-3 score EM. The 3 is funny-hope they kick that field goal on the first possession before they fall down by 3 TD's.
The D1 scouts say while Potcova won't go D1, he should have no problem going 3-0 vs Grosse Ile in his career. EM
This could be a trap game coming off 2 tough games and CC next week, but I believe that won't be a problem. I expect Airport's D to make a statement and keep Flat Rock out of the endzone. The OLine and Potcova will take care of the rest, Airport 38-3. EM
Airport's QB had an OK game last week. I think he was still 4 for 7 passing for 100 yards and a TD. He overthrew 2 receivers that could have resulted in TD's but it doesn't mean he didn't play well.
I'd say not playing well would be going 2 for 7 for 25 yards and 2 interceptions. Now that's a bad game.
We all need to keep in mind what those kids are going through with there coach being dismissed from the team. It's gotta be something big for nobody to know what is really the reason behind it. Who knows-those are just my thoughts. This game may be close than expected though.
28-14
Not so sure flatrock gets in the endzone. Airports pass d is still a work in progress but wouldn't expect an effective pass game from Flatrock.
I don't know. I think FR's O-line may be more experienced than Riverview's. Their backs are not as good but with better blocking they don't need to be. Riverview was also able to pass on the Airport secondary and it would have been a different game had their recievers hung onto the ball when it hit them in the hands. Don't know much about FR QB. If he can get the ball to his recievers or backs, it could get interesting.
Airports O-line is their strength but Riverview's less experienced D-line did "o.k.". They did give up easy third down conversions time and again for the second week in a row. But I attribute that to getting better linebacker play. So if Flat Rock can get decent linebacker play, they may be able to somewhat control the Airport ground game. The Airport QB will need to hit the open man. If he can do that, then it'll be game over. He just didn't have a good game last week passing but he was able to keep his drives going with his keepers.
