Both teams are off to 2-0 starts in what appears to be an early season key match up on the island. Grosse Ile struggled early in a 28-3 win over Flat Rock while SMCC beat a pesky Huron team 32-22. The Red Devils won last year’s meeting 20 -14.
Grosse Ile has a solid team but this year’s edition is a little different. The Red Devils like to run the ball as much as possible while throwing the occasional bubble screen. The defense stingy and athletic.
SMCC appears to be back after their first losing season in over a decade. The Falcons will run the ball on almost every down. The defense is solid and should force the Islanders out of their comfort zone.
This is an intriguing matchup. The Falcons are looking for revenge after their eight game winning streak over the Devils was broken last year. A win for GI could mean another playoff run for a young reloading program. Pick:SMCC 29 Grosse Ile 21
No offense but looking at the Airport JV scores I'm gonna have to say they might only re-load next year. We'll have to see how Airport and SMCC JV teams stack up against each other.
Next 3 years
The Kestrals better come to the island ready to be dominated in all aspects of the game! The Devils have strong returning players to fill the empty slots. I blieve smcc is still going to be hurting for players like last year. Inside scoop says that next year smcc will be a top contender in the league.
I'm having my 5 year old daughter working on the diagram for you. Trying to keep it as simple as possible for you.
Looks like Airhead has crashed the GI predictions page, class act those Jetblast fans….gotta LOVE EM!!
Just keep on a postin', still waitin' for diagrams from the D1 scout consultants…
This week is for SMCC though…

Funny 10:36. Love it

Strange things definately happen on the island. SITOFN is proof of that. Word for the day-comprehension.
SMCC looked impressive against a big Huron defensive line. They should get the win.
Unless one of the GI backs can take over the game like Kish did last year I like CC in close one 27-21. EM
And last years GI team EEEEEKED out a victory over the worst SMCC team in ten years.
This years SMCC team is better and GI isn't as good. Sounds like a CC victory but strange things can happen on the island.

Who cares, Airport will smash both of these scrubs.
As long as GI shares the rock between 6, 7 AND 4 and is able to completes only a few passes I think they will be able to outscore CC.
Believe it or not the GI def is better this year then last year. A few of the starters are not as good as the former Seniors but a few are better. And the rest are all returning starters so they should be better right? Plus they have another year with the new scheme that was very successful last year.

U must be a Huron guy to pick the chiefs over the reds. That's just dumb.
GI 25 SMCC 23
GI will grind the ground game again. If it ain't broke, don………
GI DUDE's still have some unfinished business in proving they can stymie a disciplined O…..I say 2 touch MAX.
GI 27 – SMCC 13

te gi qb is a soph
I also see a very close game. The GI D will keep them in the game and they will pull out the win…but if the O has a start like they did last week the Falcons will come out on top. I will give the tip to GI since it's their first game at home and they truly want to show that last year was not a fluke. The O will have to feed the backs to get the win and not rely on the freshman QB. Against Flat Rocks he only avg. 1 yard per carry and that will not cut it for a win. The backs have the experience and speed to get the yards on the ground. The jury is still out on the GI passing game.
SMCC will want revenge but if the islanders play smart they will be able to eek out a win.
