Grosse Ile @ Huron

Grosse Ile (5-1) is coming off of a 41-16 win over Jefferson while Huron (2-4) suffered a one point loss to Airport 14-13. The Red Devils beat the Chiefs last year 49-27.

Grosse Ile continues to roll towards the post season. The offense continues to click while the defense gets better each week.

Huron suffered it’s second one point loss of the season last week. The Chiefs should be fired up for homecoming this week.

Grosse Ile is still hoping to get a share of the league title but must win out and then hope for a little help. Huron is hoping to salvage their season with a homecoming win. Pick: Grosse Ile 27 Huron 21

  1. Kalbfleisch has done miracles for players in the past years. The players need more heart in the sport and the weight room to be taken more seriously. Grosse Ile has an extreme amount of talent coming out of that school and it shows. Their hard work and dedication shows on and off the field. I don't think Huron's defense is strong or fast enough to stop GI.

  2. Good question. Here is something to ponder. Off season work, summer work and weight lifting have all gone through the roof since DK took over. Is he responsible for that? Of course.

  3. I think there is a conondrum at Huron. Everyone thinks that the current coaching staff should be lauded because the Chiefs are no longer the doormat that they historically were. But wondering, in fact, if the real change is BETTER talent which is actually being held BACk by the coaching staff. Don't have the answer but am real curious….

  4. Don't HATE….LOVE makes the world go round! It's OK to love GI cause it's the communities team….not mine and never has been. I just opine the hard truths that some like and some don't.

Anyone notice how those "winds of change" have been blowin'….heavy air as the blow boaters say.

    GI rolls again 38-8

  5. Grosse Ille wins easily. Chris you can tell you are loyal to Huron and Flat Rock for obvious reasons but lets be partial here !

  6. to those saying that stuff about Huron, are you from Huron? Would you suggest Huron fire Kalbfleisch? If so, who should they hire in his place? What coach would take that job if Kalbfleisch was fired after all he has done there?

  7. if you coach football you better believe it weighs on your mind wether or not your players minds are elsewhere.

  8. Chris, way off on this one. Even though it's homecoming I am looking at 35 – 14 . Grosse Ile is just picking up steam at this point.

  9. Something' going on at Huron. THEY HAVE TALENT AND SIZE. I am not only talking this year. The last 2 years they have distinctly underachieved in my opinion. I know Huron has suffered for decades on the gridiron and the folks may just be happy with 4 or 5 wins. Although this year it now looks like 2 or 3. Chris will say the are just kids practicing and playing hard. Yes no different than most places I agree. That kind of goes without saying. What gives over there? It's time to realize you are now a better program than just 3-6. Act like it and play like it. EXPECT TO WIN!

  10. The parents credo does not apply to Huron. They lose because of the coaching and win in spite of the coaching. I think GI is too speedy, I hate SITOFNs gut for his lame Airport puns but he has a decent team this year. I think GI wins this game by a comfortable margin.

  11. I think this will be a very good game. Huron has improved each week, almost beating Airport last week, had a few chances I hear. I watched GI last week and they looked vulnerable, could have been a much closer game. If Huron can capitalize on where Jefferson left off, it will be close.
    GI 34, Huron 28
