Many could argue that Mitroka from GI was the best qb in the league last yr too…
I hope that's true, Milan having numbers on the helmets, it's a good look, if we can't have tradition…
Did they get new helmets because of the American Indian "references"?
GI Defense will be pretty good, a lot of very good players returning. These players were undefeated as JV two years ago.
That will be a tough game for Ypsi. Combining those two schools will result in a great athletic program. The new Ypsi high athletic department and administration have made it a point to use athletics as a way to create a positive atmosphere around the school and to also use it as a way to improve academic performance. They are a sleeping giant!
The one thing Jefferson has going for them is that stud in the backfield. That kid can go the distance anytime he touches the ball. Mitroka is probably the best QB in the league, although McCormick and Kanitz could factor in. EM
What do you guys think of Milan playing the new ypsilanti willow run team could they actually be somewhat good with all those athletes?
GI opens with Annapolis. Riverview opens with Crestwood. Flat Rock opens with Riverview Gabriel Richard. Huron opens with Summit Academy.
Jefferson could be a sleeper. Lots of athletes there. I have picked them 7th but may move up the ladder a bit. The schedule isn't very kind to the Bears.
Riverview is tough to figure out. All things pointed to a great season last year but they finished 3-6. The Pirates have loads of speed but offensively they must figure out how to get those guys in space.
Grosse Ile is a team I expect a lot from but graduation losses may hurt them more than many expect. Mitroka is the real deal and my pick for the best offensive player in the league. He may carry them by himself. Much will depend on the defense.
Adrian won't be very good, but then again Airport lost a lot. Who does GI, Riverview and FR open up with? Does Huron open with Annapolis again?
What is Jefferson going to do offensively?
Who is your sleeper team this year chris? Who will disappoint? Who will overachieve? Who will make the deepest run in the playoffs other than SMCC?
How is Adrian better than Airport? The 2 games they played in the last 2 years went down to the wire, each winning one. Will Adrian have a great senior class this year? Cause Adrian's juniors to be couldn't tackle at all, Airport's JV coulda scored 100 if they wanted.
Milan won't have the spear this year, just numbers on their helmet.
Jefferson will most likely be awful. Maybe 3-6
Adrian is most likely better than airport. I surely would not pick the jets to win.

Taking a look at the week 1 schedule, I can see the league going 7-1. Jefferson appears to be the only real underdog vs Tecumseh. Airport-Adrian should be a good game, maybe a slight edge to Airport playing at home. The rest of the league have very winnable games. EM

What will Airport look like under their new HC?
Looks like I will have to change the helmets for Huron and Flat Rock. Both teams apparently have a new look.
