  1. Coach Hoskins should stick to his guns on this one. When it comes to safety of your players and putting your kids and fans into a hostile environment like that.
Why is the superintendent more interested in not protecting players from serious injury rather than worry about covering it up.
Maybe folks in milan should be looking in another direction when it comes to selecting a superintendent.

Huron will prove you guys wrong. They're a very good football team that made some mistakes last night.

The only mistakes I saw was a scrambling QB run backwards rather than upfield.. that was costly, that and a flat defense.. If old man Kalby was still there, that Defense would have a fire up under their a$$; or come half time, he wouldve busted them up one way and down the other.. They gotta read better and contain.. If they contained a bit better; GI wouldn't have ran right up field on them.. I love Huron but a lot of mistakes cost them that game.

  3. …and where iwere your complaints when they finished 1-8 with losses to Huron and FR. there weren't any. Get over yourself. You were silent and will be again if they don't win. That is how it works.

  4. Big Red slated for 6th place finish in league race
For the first time in over a quarter century someone other than Steve Robb will patrol the sideline for the Milan Football program. Jesse Hoskins, a 2001 Milan graduate takes over the program after spending the last handful of season as the JV coach.

Offensively, the Big Reds are most likely to be led by junior QB Justin Aceves. His favorite target is sure to be 1st team All Huron League WR Tory Martinson. The offensive line will be anchored by senior lineman Blake Edelbrock while Steven Price has experience at tight end. Look for a different look from Milan this year on offense as the Big Reds look to go to one back set more often.

Defensively, Milan will be led by LB Luke Karr along with DB Cody Freeman. Juniors Blaine LeClair and Ty Peterson are expected to have solid seasons for the Milan defense as well.

Milan opens up with Ypsi High again this season before opening league play against Jefferson. Last season the Big Reds defeated the Phoenix 25-24 while finishing the season at 6-4.

    1. SMCC is 44-1 against Huron all time, and you are gonna seriously predict win number 2? Do you have this weeks lottery numbers? Please share, we would all appreciate it!

  5. whoever is answering the "what was the score when the starters came out" is dumb. He is obviously some hater from another school. He doesnt really want to know, he is just being an a$$. why answer?

  6. I think riverview needs a play book change. The defense needs to be anyhting but a 5-2, the LBs are the probem, not the line. The offensive playbook is fine for this year because of the backs the have, but what happens when they leave? they should change to a spread because they have the quarter back for that, who seems to be improving greatly, he throws with more confidence and his tightend, who also has another year, caught his TD pass last night.. I just think they need to change the foundation to find success.

  7. I believe MIlan and GI are the teams to beat. Both had great wins and continue to roll with their spread offenses. SMCC does not have this, they will be beat by 1 or both of them. Spread works when you have the right kids, at least thats what everyone on here says, well, by the scores I would say they both have the right kids. Heres to parity in the league, once again, no front runner.

  8. Airports offense just chipped away and fueled itself off of Jefferson mistakes. Jefferson beat themselves, many penalties, many mental mistakes. Airport had a few TD passes and ran in a couple. Both teams got a lot to work on, Airport was a little more prepared at this point. Both teams will improve each week.

  9. Yes "Riverview is BACK", back to 2012!

Honestly, the HC is the DC. The D was horrific last year. So what does the HC do? Instead of firing the DC he replaces the OC with somebody he won a state title with and guess what, nothing changes. SURPRISE!!!!

Having the HC as one of your Coordinators is a lot like having your AD as one of your HC's. OOPS!

    Difficult to fire yourself.

  10. Instead of giving 1 or 2 backs the bulk of the carries, Airport relies on 4 different backs to carry the ball. McCormick's favorite target last night was McGrath, who caught 2 TDs. EM

  11. Huron is still a team to be reckoned with. SMCC@Huron will be a slobberknocker!! I dont think anyone would go to GI and win.

  12. Pretty sure Milan proved they're still in the big 3 by destroying a team that was predicted to kill them with a quarterback recovering from an injury

  13. GI defense from my perspective was the exact same as Hurons defense; they made stops when needed, pressured the QBs, and had some huge stops..

Huron's offense though… Just disappointed is all I can really say. The score should've been closer, ALOT closer…

This game was pretty much to see where Huron would place, and well looks like Big 3 will be CC, GI, and Milan IMO

  14. The defense was solid but the QB makes them go. I'm not trying to slight anyone. Mitroka makes people miss. That is rare in Huron League football. I thought McCarty was a beast tonight on "D". Camilleri played well too!

I have a question, where has SITOFN been?

I think the Big 3 is still 3 and it includes Milan.

  15. Really Chris you mention Mitroka…You're better than that! It wasn't Mitroka tonight it was CLEARLY the GI Defense!!NEWSFLASH CHRIS….GI Defense is really good! Remember that post.

  16. Yeah i was gonna say so much for Riverview's defense being improved. Complete team effort by Airport. As i said, Airport would win by 2 TDs if Sandore didnt run wild and that's what happened. Keagon Brinson is somebody to keep an eye on, on both sides of the ball. EM

  17. Tough call. I have been a supporter of GI . HUron still pretty good too. Probably closer than the score but GI was the better team by a good margin. Huron threw 4 picks and muffed a kickoff on a pop up. Mitroka killed them.
