  1. Best offense? No; close but no; Huron's 2010 Varsity team was the best offensive team. They had a College size O Line, Fast backfield, spot on QB, and quite a few great receivers.. Hence it being the only team in school history to ever make a playoff game. Season is still young, and they have alot to prove if they're going to be be the "best" offense.

  2. This actually may be their best offense in the last half century for Huron. I know that may not be saying much but fortunately or unfortunately I have seen just about all of them.

Here are the stats from the GI game. Huron had 193 yards rushing and 135 yards passing for 328 total yards (Maxpreps). Huron threw 4 interceptions and gave the ball up on downs twice inside the GI 30. One was actually at the 20. This game was as close as a 28-3 game could be. It wasn't a blowout by any stretch. GI also recovered what amounted to an onside kick.

I actually wished these teams would have played later in the season when Huron would have figured out who the QB would be. The two headed monster never really works. Another thing that really hurt is the loss on Bush for the season. He is their MLB and one of the faster players on the team.

With all that thrown out there. GI was the better team but I don't think GI's defense was the main ingredient. They were opportunistic, as three of the interceptions were overthrown balls to wide open receivers.

  3. "We mentioned the impressive part of GI, Mitroka! Sorry if holding the year in year out offensive powerhouse that is Huron to 3 isn't impressive. "

Mistakes is why Huron was only held to 3.. Plain and Simple. Huron's offense went up and down field with GI's "wonderfully explosive world greatest" defense.. Did you see that game? Huron within 1:30 was up field almost in for a TD but went 3 and out and settled for the FG… The popcorn wasnt that good, so I stuck to watching the game.

    1. I was not at the game, I was only making an obsevation based on Hurons offensive performance over the last, I don't know, 50 years or so. Unless of course you're telling me this is their best offense in the last half century.

  4. I cannot believe this garbage. Just vote! Chris said "Player" not group. Maybe another poll will be for a line, or group. Can we not drop this silliness?

  5. Grosse Il's defense did not do as good as what people are saying! Do you have any idea how many yard huron had against them? A couple mistakes is why they were held to 3.

  6. That Lamb kid from Jefferson looks pretty good. Run and pass. Liporato made some great catches too. Their line did well against Airport. Do we mention kids on 0-2 teams?

  7. Chris, I can't believe you didn't list the Grosse Ile defense as one of the top performances of week 2. What game were you watching? They had four ints. you know and only gave up a field goal.

    1. We mentioned the impressive part of GI, Mitroka! Sorry if holding the year in year out offensive powerhouse that is Huron to 3 isn't impressive.
