SMCC @ Jefferson

SMCC (6-1) is coming off of a wild 56-49 victory over Riverview last week while Jefferson (1-6) dropped a tough 20-12 game to Grosse Ile. The Falcons won last season’s game 29-24 but the Bears have won 8 of the last 14 games in what is the league’s best football rivalry.

SMCC continues to just win games. The offense was outstanding once again last week but the defense struggled against Riverview’s powerful running game.

Jefferson dropped a golden opportunity last week to get another victory. The offense was good enough while the defense continued to struggle.

On paper this looks like a blowout, the records are virtually the same as last season when the game was decided by 5 points. The rivalry factor will be big as new Jefferson coach Bruce Pickens gets his first shot at SMCC. Pick: SMCC 30 Jefferson 12

  1. Nothing at Jefferson is destroyed, all in pretty good shape actually.

What kind of shape is your sports facilities in?

Glad were out in country where we can have pets, you probably have to get your landlords permission.

Whenever somebody prefaces their remarks with "Im not an SMCC fan" guess what, their NOT.

  2. Whenever somebody prefaces their remarks with "Im a view fan" or "Im a Huron fan" or any school for that matter. Chances are they are not.

  3. I'm a view fan but #70 from cc comes off the ball faster and tougher than anyone I have seen. Some mass would take him to the next level

  4. Lol, this is fun. Maybe Fermi can build you a new field and rec center now that you've destoyed the one's they gave you. Like we tell the children, you can't have nice things if you don't take care of them. If your facilities were pets they would have died.

  5. At least a beach rat has to earn its own way!

Welcome to our field. Where's your field at again? Oh, you rent it from Monroe Public schools. $8,000.00 and you don't even have your own field.

  6. I have seen all the league teams play, I believe Chris is very accurate with his opinions. Once again SMCC on here because they aren't getting enough attention.

There are no other schools on here complaining like you guys. Deal with it. Jefferson will surprise you this week.
Bears 30, SMCC 24. Time to put the sign back up on Dixie Hwy. LOL

  7. umm TJ Cook from Jefferson might be the best Lineman in the league. Carter Paddy is solid as well pal! Chris is pretty spot on with his selections. Remember this are his OPINIONS…you asked, he told ya!

  8. I usually do unless someone goes over the top. The stuff aimed at me is pretty funny. I enjoy posting those things. I wonder sometimes though if people actually comprehend what I write.

  9. Both GI lineman are very good juniors (Gilliam and Camilleri), Gilliam is back off his injury so we should see a better GI team this game.

  10. Matt Bacon has not played a single play on offense this year and you have him in your top 5? You failed to mention #70 from smcc in that list of best linemen, the list should start with him and not include anyone from Jefferson ,flat Rock, Airport or Huron.

  11. While we all like what snooze does, he is wrong on most everything, most of the time. Too hard to guess what the mhsaa will do. Its mainly for fun.

  12. Other linemen from around the league; Riverview's Matt Bacon, Airport's Tyler Girt, Huron's Jacob Krug, Milan's Jake Friese and Grosse Ile's Max Gilliam and Phil Camilleri. I'm partial to Huron's Brandon Taylor on defense as well.

  13. Snooze2you has SMCC in the D5 playoffs in the same district as Jackson Lumen Christi. That would be a tough draw. EM

  14. I too feel the Falcons sometimes look a little lifeless after a big play. Might be they are so young and all havent played much together, Im not sure.

  15. Thats awesome. Cant be much more fair than that. How bout a standout on Flat Rocks team?? #4 maybe.

I like your 8 out of last 14 stat.
    You never know boys!!
    NICE !

  16. Off of the top of my head; Riverview's Josh Smith, Milan's Robert Kanitz, Jefferson's Elijah Sandore, Airport's Scott McCormick, Huron's Jacob Krug, SMCC's Josh Czarniowski and GI's Andrew Mitroka

  17. This will be a good game as long as Jefferson doesn't shoot themselves in the foot. Jefferson has seen the best offenses in the league already, SMCC will be nothing new. Jefferson will be ready for this one.
    Jefferson in the upset!!!!!
    42 – 35

    GO BEARS!!!

  18. If SMCC cant pull it together this could be a closer game then what many of us think. It seems to me that the Falcons have lost some of the drive they had at the beginning of the year. From a fans stand point they don't cheer each other on and are kind of lifeless sometimes. I hope they get that spark back soon. Go Falcons!
