  1. Congrats to Milan and their staff.
I attended both play-off games. Thurston and Melvindale both were better teams. Milan played hard and earned what they got.
    Great job!!!

  2. All year Milan has been a great team. A very disciplined team on the field as well. Maybe some fans on here take it too far but have some respect for those boys because they worked their butts off. Congrats Milan on a great season.

    1. 5 Tds each I thought. You know Milan could have won when it was 25-28 in the fourth. They got stop when needed and melvindale got stop when. They won sure indeed by 4 and that was 4 missed extra pts. They were bigger faster more talented and shows how good milan was to have been in game the whole time and had a shot to win..

  3. Well Mlan fans ripped on everybody that they played this year. Now they can't handle a little taste of what they gave out all year-TO BAD! Maybe they should not have pounded their chest so hard. Nothing against their players but their fans have to learn how to have some class.

  4. Great season Milan! Very proud if the character Milan showed all year. Going to miss a great group of seniors. They did an outstanding job. Can't wait to start seeing predictions for next year. I'm sure no one will give Milan a chance again next year. We have some good kids coming up from JV, should be able to compete for the title. We have a great running back coming back. Some great juniors coming back, should be another great year of football! Good luck to SMCC in the play offs.

  5. Great season Milan. The comments are probably from the same jefferson players that stood in the stands with Gabriel Richard fans and cheered against SMCC.

  6. I'm sorry, but I have to say this. Who is the tool bag (toolbox/douche bag combo) that keeps ripping on Milan? Get over it. They won the league for the second straight year. Won a playoff game for the 2nd straight year. Unless your team beat them in the league the last two years or beat them in the playoffs
then just give it up. They easily had three or four possibly five of the best players in the league at their position.

  7. Your TEAM as predicted would not go far in the playoffs. With all your all-state players at each position you think you have the greatest TEAM every. It just shows that your TEAM was good but not great.

  8. My plans were to start next season but I thought I might as well do it right now. My numbers have been solid. It will be bigger than the Huron League blog simply because there are 10 schools and they're all bigger than the Huron League Schools. It is simply a numbers game.

  9. Well I guess last night should put an end to the Huron League vs DRL talk. I told you guys it was a bad matchup for Milan. Had the refs made the correct call of Kanitz fumbling it woulda been much worse. Thats ok a win is a win. I wish Milan luck next season. But considering who your losing, making the playoffs will be a longshot.

    1. Your absolutly right had the refs made the right calls the outcome could have been quite different. I was at the game and if you watch the film in the 4th quarter Melvindale got away with ALOT of illegal hits and bad calls were made in Melvindales favor. For GODS sake their friggen coach got them a 15 yard penalty for taunting that gives insight on the character of that program..so watch the film and shut up! The best team did NOT win that game. Im sorry so many folks are so bitter that you need to act like a children. Grow up folks you act like something out of a lifetime movie filled with little 13 year olds.

  10. Livonia- Athletic-weak conference-cc owes them from the 2000 defeat.

    all you need to know.

hope to see you all there on middlebelt this Friday.

  11. I guess SMCC fans want to take low road and be humble about things. All of you have been quiet the last few weeks, perhaps thats working, you are moving right along so far.
1 week at a time, Clarenceville will be tough, but so was AAGR.

Good Luck. Last man standing in HL.

  12. Well as to 10:33 poster, I agree with him. If your going to do so much talking every week about the team, playing like a team, and your team has all the best league players, you should at least win a district title(especially at home).

    1. Milan has a play not to lose mentality. Once again never tested the opponents pass D with short concept routes or flood routes. Where are screens for rb/te with all the pressure. Maybe next year..

  13. I just can't believe the ignorance of the 10:33 poster.. Like Chris said, back to back HL champs.. that speaks for itself.

  14. I told you Melvindale RB Gibbs would make you pay if you focused on the pass. I'll tell ya those Milan fans couldnt leave fast enough after Melvindale went up 10 with about 50 seconds left. Had Milan recovered the onside kick with 19 seconds left and scored a miracle TD they woulda felt stupid. You should at least stick around and give your football team a standing ovation after a great season. Oh well, I guess that's what happens when your dealing with fair weather fans.

  15. It was a great game. I didn't think it would be a 66 point game, I was wrong. I knew they had a good passing game but I was sure the dunk and dunks would be stopped. Wrong again. A screen went for like 30. A flood went for 40. That is what beat us. The offense for Milan did the job, but fell short on D. O line was not the best and D line had no pressure on the QB. Back to work, try and get another league championship. Very proud of our Big Reds. They never quit, just fell a little short. Kinda like life sometimes it happens! Good job Milan.

  16. What a heck of a game at Milan tonight!! Boynton was as good as advertised and Melvindale RB is a beast. I give Milan alot of credit, the game nearly got out of hand but they hung tough and nearly got the go ahead score late 4th quarter. Milan bids farewell to a great senior class, Kanitz and Hoover are 2 of the best in school history. EM

  17. The Milan game was the most entertaining of the year by far.

The most surprising thing is that it was the offenses that dominated, not the defenses.

Milan's Achilles heel was giving up long pass plays for TD's.

But I gotta give it to Milan for coming back…a great interception TD, then a long drive. Half-time was 21-19.

Milan could have taken the lead if they had scored on their 3rd quarter opening drive.

It was the story of two different offensive styles…quick air strikes by Melvindale v. the sustained drives by Milan.

    The Cardinals advance–congrats.

    To Milan's season and 20-2 record–congrats.

  18. Wow, What happened to the Great TEAM. The GREAT offense and defense . The stud line and LB's-best in the league. Looks like a bunch of talk now!!!

    1. Your some piece of work. Melvindale is dang good team, so is Milan. Everyone knew what Milan had to do defensively. They didn't get it done. The offense kept them in the game. We fell short in the kicking game a bit. It happens. Our heads are held high for we played a great game, they played a little better. Hats off to them. 20-2 in 2 years is a great thing. Enjoy your victory, that was good team that beat us. Hope to see you next year in the play offs.

    2. Milan played good but melvidale made one more play better. That's it one play and the game could of went the other way. A very talented kid in Boynton made two spectacular catches for tds. HATERS Milan scored 5tds omg so did Melvindale.

    3. Milan scored 5 tds Melvindale scored 5 tds no more debating they made one more play than Milan and Milan had a chance to win. Boynton from their team was best athlete playmaker talent on the field. Milan dbs didn't get beat deep #2 just was that Good and simply made the better play. All you haters we just say Good Game Melvindale beat St Clair.
