Amen, not many leaving their names when they post. As a coach and AD, one of the biggest problems I run into is lil Johnny getting an earful from dad at home. I know you love your kid, but every parent should support the child while supporting the coach and team. Nothing hurts a team more than Dad speaking negatively about a coach and/or other players.
Donate some of your time Armchair quarterbacks. How many downs of football have you played? How many hours have you put in? Coaching is a selfless job, especially when good coaches are not even getting paid, You TALKERS amuse me. You have ALL the answers. I believe every coach in the Huron League busts their tails to get better, WHO coaches to lose?? Ignorant fan bases, learn the intricacies of the game before you start making accusations or attacking coaches. Most fans/parents don't have a clue. If your kid is soft you need to look in the mirror, Quit blaming coaches. How many of you fans/parents are playing catch with your kid or giving up your free time to help a program or organization. Hey or how about you go to practice every day and watch, then you may have a better understanding of what is going on. But I'm sure your time is to valuable to go and sit and watch your son practice everyday!! I look my kid in the eye every day and let him know what I think of his performance on the field or lack there of. Quit lying to yourselves, you rather talk than do anything else. I have no doubt the head coach has a ton of passion. He is as fired up as they come, but typically a head coach will oversee the rest. Coordinators, line coaches, running back coaches, receivers and d-back coaches, ETC. Any coach anywhere is only as good as the people he surrounds himself with. I think he needs to re-evaluate the people he has surrounded himself with. Make the decisions and drive the ideas home till theres no doubt. work on 1 play for an hour if you have too. Hang in there.

It's unfortunate that coach thinks they lack passion. they were there all summer.coach says we have new offense it works then they change they can't stck to anything kids are confused .take blame coach your staff is not good .
Jefferson situation very unfortunate. We know this group of Seniors are very talented, plus there are many talented juniors on the team. These kids have had success in other sports programs, whether it be school or summer programs. When it comes to football we expect that same success. They have as much talent as the kids in the other schools. We have to put the best kids in the best spots, regardless of who their parents are.
The constant changing of the offense, kids not knowing their actual job on the team is just a few issues they have. The fundraising is great, passing league is great, but as a prior commenter said, everybody does that. If you want to be over and above the rest, you have to go over and above.
Too be a great coach you have to have tremendous passion for the sport or you shouldn't be coaching. Its not just about the overtime.
revamped league play predicted order of finish:
1. SMCC (7-0) Seem to be the strongest team so far. Its a test every week from here on out however.
2. RIVERVIEW(6-1) passed every test thus far. Gets Huron @home
3. HURON (5-2) Epic game against view last year. This year will be the same.
4. MILAN (4-3) Has GI and Airport @home. I like their chances. Will 5 wins get them in the playoffs?
5. AIRPORT (3-4) Will play everyone tough but will just miss out of the playoffs.
6. GROSSE ILE (2-5) Favorable schedule with View and Airport @home but I just don't think they are right.
7. JEFFERSON (1-6) Bears don't have the horses to compete with the rugged Huron League.
8. FLAT ROCK (0-7) Getting better and has some talent. Its a relentless league however, especially if you are Flat Rock.
Unfortunately the easiest place to coach is at an orphanage. I have never heard a parent say my kid isn't very good. It is always the coach fault when hey lose and its always the kids when they win. Somethings never change.

You do know that penalties and turn overs are part of the game, right? If Milan was superior they would have came back the next day (yes, not just the 20 minute half time for adjustments) and made some plays to win. Milan was not the better team 2 days in a row. The last 2 years records do not win football games, scoring more points than the other team wins football games.

You know whats bothersome is that after 3 games this year a few people are saying the coaches should be gone. 1 they have put together a foundation with 2 teams in the First Downers. 2 worked hard on a Fundraiser and passing league to raise money and get work in over the summer. They have brought an entire new System that is going to take time. Ya i agree its to bad that this years team and maybe next years will suffer because of it. But if they Stick to what they are trying to do and have patients things will improve. Nobody has patients anymore or is loyal. Right away we have to blame someone. I wont and dont feel sorry for my son being on this team, cause going through a rough season and putting up with all this negativity will make him a Stronger man in the long run. That is what matters Just my opinion

Jefferson needs to find more ways to get Liparoto the ball. It's either go deep or hitch. They need to move the receivers around a little. ..It does seem like every play is designed to be a touchdown.

You are calling the coaches incompetent? That is simply ridiculous. Do you think that any coach anywhere enjoys losing? Do you realize the time that is put into teaching these kids? Maybe instead of pointing fingers at coaches you should point fingers at yourselves as parents for coddling your kids Gone are the days of tough kids! Gone are the days of what happens at practice stays at practice and coaches were thanked for disciplining kids instead of being reprimanded or even fired over it! Coaches can only install so many things at the end of the day…Players have to Play!

Jefferson has a ton of talent on that team, not sure why they can't win. Seems the coaches are motivated and have them playing hard. Does it come down to technique or ability? They do some good stuff offensively, no doubt! But if they lose to FR watch out!! They have NO business losing to them!

The only success Jefferson has had this year has been in the air. They will probably try and run the ball this week, that did not work out so well against Milan.
Coaching Jefferson terrible buddy system gets you bad coaching.they had suucess but had to go to Buddy system that's why most be gone after season to bad for seniors. they deserve more they bought in until seen want happened .after2 and game.they have heart still going to play hard though

I give RV full credit. They did a great job against us. (Milan). They won. They beat us. They played better than we did. I don't think they are a better team though. No one is making excuses either. No one is hating on them. Just simply stating opinions. Maybe another game will happen in the play offs. Who knows. I just think Milan is not playing as team and will finally start clicking. No disrespect to any team.
Same thing everyone said last year about Milan. They proved everyone wrong, looks like it might be Riverview's year to be the surprise team.

I think Coach Panza and Coach Mills did a great job when freshmen coaches together. They did things a little different and it seemed they always had the best record when compared to the Jv and varsity teams. Unorthodox sometimes but were able to make changes and adjust on the fly. The kids in my sons group had their most fun and successful year under those two. I hear they have both moved on to other places from players, too bad.

After seeing CC play I think they are going to be play all the way till Thanksgiving but they have to show up week in and week out in order for that predict to come true. Milan has an great Offense but their Defense has some big wholes. Huron could be a great team but they seem to be hit or miss this year. Riverview while 3-0 seem to be Lucky to be that, going based on what everyone is saying about them.Their Defense seems to be tough while the offense is old school between the tackles. Airport even though they lost this week, has a Great Defense with a offense that shortens the game and forces you to be sound every play.
I believe that any of those 5 teams have a shot for the league title. Only time will tell!

Jefferson has a lot of work to do. Such great seniors right now. Too bad the same good guy, buddy coaches around. Who would have thought their best year was with Tony Panza as Freshmen. That's disappointing. Flat Rock may beat them.

Milan please don't be proclaiming how good you are because you beat Jefferson. Jefferson is so hapless and cant get out of their own way, ever. You will finish 5-4 at the very best.
Have you watched Milan play? They beat themselves against RV. They almost lost to a team but pulled it together in the end. And Jefferson just got beat cause they made poor choices. If Milan plays a B game they beat everyone in the league other than SMCC. They have to play their A game with them and force SMCC to play catch up. By far SMCC is the best team. But the best team does not always win. Milan is better than RV, just didn't play like it. Huron has a chance too. It just all depends on which team shows up.

I think Riverview is the only team that is capable of coming close to CC. They have a hard hitting defense that could hold CC's offense up, and a good offensive that's able to grind out the yards.
Your comment on Riverview's QB Drew Kroll's success is based solely on the coaching change IMO. The new coach with his new play book utilizes kroll's strengthes more than Stergalas's play book. Not to take away anything from what he did to become a better player and QB but I think his success is coming from the change of Offense.
That GI/CC game should be a good one! Hopefully the GI team from the Flat Rock game shows up, minus the turnovers..
