Both teams are coming off of wins in week one. Riverview (1-0) shrugged of a slow 1st half and defeated Garden City 41-15 while Milan (1-0) came from behind to defeat Marshall 26-21. Milan won year’s early season match up 41-28 and have won six out of the last ten games in this league rivalry.
Milan felt the effects of two Ypsi Lincoln transfers last week as junior QB E.J. Medvecz led the Big Reds in rushing while junior LB Cortez Gray led the defense with 10 tackles. The Big Reds are more than just those players and seem to be picking up where they left off the Huron League season last year.
Riverview took a half before they really got going in week 1. Senior QB Drew Krull will once again lead the offense as the Pirates have mutliple offensive threats. Defensively, Tyler Chase and company will have to find a way to slow down Medvecz and Big Red sophomore RB Trace Lindeman.
This could be a very good game. Riverview coach Derek McLaughlin is a seasoned veteran and has seen offenses like Milan’s in the Downriver League. With that said, I will not pick against the Big Reds. Prediction: Milan 21 Riverview 14
Riverview is going to finish Milan off today. Milan wasn't doing anything impressive last night, and Riverview was just getting started final score Riverview 28 milan 14
Wondering how the muck (no turf in Milan) and possible storm delays might affect the game tonight…
Milan 42-14 ive seen both teams play Riverview looks very slow on defense and their corners don't look that impressive Milan's offense is very dangerous again Riverview's offense so-so and Milan's defense is decent I think Riverview could hurt them in the pass game though Milan goes up eerily and doesn't look back Riverview slow start again hurts them bad
Garden city was absolutely awful. Worst offense I've ever seen.
Garden city is not a bad program?
I guess you are right if you mean they are terrible.
This will be a great game. Riverview is better than many people think. I will not be surprised if they take out Milan.
Garden City is not a bad program and the View didn't play well early, but still beat them easily.
Riverview 35 Milan 31
48-14 Milan.
I think Riverview is coming to play hard and try to put an "A" game on Friday night. I think Chris hit the prediction right. Although Milan could win big again, or even choke on defense and make it close like last week. If the Lindeman kid played the first half last week it would have been a 2 TD game. I look for him to have a few long runs, and Gray to have a big game on defense. If Milan goes up 21 nothing like last season then Riverview will not be able to play catch up.
