  1. I didn't see that. It seems like Airport's homecoming crowd didn't see it either. I don't believe I have seen a post from anybody else regarding that. As for the colors, that was brought by the old AD when they switched the logo to that of Utah's.

  2. classless act by huron running onto the field before the game and stomping on the airport logo at the 50…i am an alumni of huron and it was not cool…maybe it's a reflection of the coach!? He brought Divine Child's colors to huron…. but not DC's class!!!

  3. St. John and carrabino ran the double wing.

This CC team hasn't won a darn thing. Best the Bears and now you have something. Best cc team??? Please. That post was a troll in disguise.

    1. … because beating a one win team will really show how good they are as opposed to big wins over Huron, Riverview and GI?

  4. When they juniors and seniors of cc team were in cyo. The only team to run anything close to cc was st. Marys with LAMOUR at fullback Vuich at running back.St. Mikes with windham ran the spread with 5 wide. St. John's with carrabino ran the I formation. St.Charles also ran the I. So they have not been running it since 5th gr. just a credit to Duffy and kipf the 2 main lower level coaches to get them prepared

  5. Lol. Better than 2005. 2009, and 2010? I've seen all 4 teams play. And this team is not the best team….. You cannot go off the points for and points against. jack used to take out the starters in the beginning of the 3rd quarter and even sometimes at the half in the past. This team doesn't have that ability with a small unit, so they keep playing the starters because they have no choice.

Those other teams had size too, we talk about how size does not matter. But when you are comparing two smcc teams, size does matter.

Uh, Bears fan. We're not Flat Rock.

  7. The leagues talent is not down, but the changes to the teams in the league has brought the quality of play down. Many teams are spreading it out, passing more, which is very exciting, but this caters right to SMCC. SMCC has NOT changed their offense, they still run their 5 basic plays. Right now with most teams changing offenses, looking to the future, SMCC has taken advantage by running the same offense those kids have done since 5th grade. This will catch up with them in the next few years when other teams master the spread and the pass, but until then SMCC will rule because they still run what they always have. That is why they appear to be so good right now.

The new offenses also cater right to SMCC's defense. SMCC's corners and safetys are very fast and a passing game is exactly what they want. If there an availible stat, I'm sure there are more interceptions in the league this year than there has ever been and I bet SMCC has more interceptions than they ever have.

SMCC will win until they meet an old school rushing team that continuously pounds the ball all game. Your not going to beat them passing.

    LONG LIVE RIP FLY 45.

  8. Jack Giarmo doesn't cut kids who work hard and want to be on the team. Cutting happens at most larger schools. So 53 is pretty much everyone who wants to play football as a junior or senior and a handful of talented sophomores.

  9. so the guy who picked GI 50-6 was spot on! Baby Bear you're not going to be mad again this week when we pick you to lose by 50?

  10. Seems like it was a confusing beginning at the airport/huron game. Someone at airport decided to get the night started with the raising of the flag and national anthem when their own football team wasn't even on the field! Furthermore, they weren't even in sight! Not sure who dropped the ball on that one, but how disgraceful! Huron was obviously confused in the first half of the game, but I'm glad they cleared their heads for the second half! Congrats Huron on making the playoffs!

  11. Congrats to CC. I am a Huron dad and you guys deserve all the credit you get for your team this year. Yes I was hoping that the View would kick your behind so we could have a share of the league title but your boys took care of business. Please go out and win a state title so my son can say he lost a league title to the best CC team ever.

  12. No, no, no, no. Not you too, Jefferson! Don't be a part of what every other team was like. Don't say that you will be fired up and upset SMCC! Every other fan base has done it all year and look at the outcome. SMCC will win by 35 or more against Jefferson.

  13. I think Riverview was solid. They just ran into a buzz saw tonight. I would think people would stop telling them they are to small and slow. Just makes them mad. Besides, they are a fast team.I was very impressed.

  14. Well it looks like Riverview turned out to be like everyone else. Somewhere Albert Einstein is rolling in his grave. Physics doesn't always work, does it? Your SUPER HUGE, GIGANTIC team couldn't handle our small, weak offensive and defensive lines at all. Good luck Pirates the rest of the way. We need more exposure for the Huron League. Go Falcons!

    1. Yes it was. Against both Ithaca and Montague. Both those teams had fantastic kickers that resulted in every drive starting at their own 20. They were forced to try to run the ball down the throat for 80 yards every drive. That is impossible to do all game.

While that is conditioning, the presence of a passing game does eliminate that. I'll agree that a very solid secondary makes SMCC up for defending against Ithaca or a similar style offense this year.

    2. I don't think he means they can't go the length of the game, but rather how many games they have played. That they get burnt out in the post season because of a smaller roster.

    3. Nah, I was talking about a whole game. They haven't had to play a complete game 100%. To me, that's kind of the only thing they haven't proven they could do yet, since they really haven't had to. To say they didn't get tired against Ithaca or Montague in the state championships is just wrong.

  15. airport had a good game but they can go on the road next week and do some damage I have some pride but not to much come on airport get the heads out of a book play though hm

    1. The pass attack definitely was missing in the past. The only potential issue is if they're conditioned in a game that is competitive into the 4th quarter. That's what's hurt them late in the post season before. And hopefully they're ready for that challenge. I believe they will be.

    1. GI's final regular season game is against Hazel Park, who hasn't won since 2012. Yeah, I'm tired of hearing about hearing about FR not belonging in the league that they have the longest history with.

  16. What was that about Jefferson upsetting GI… 48-7 wow. It's a great day to be a Red Devils. Time to "buck the fuccaneers

    1. Great day to be a Red devil? The bears aren't too good, I wouldn't settle with that win with riverview coming in steaming after their loss to CC tonight. Look out GI, you got a train full speed ahead, with it headed right at your mouth. Go Bucs.

    2. Check out their two wins before that game. Bucs are coming to The House of Fire. All I'm going to say is you boys better strap it tight. The Red Devils have you boys in their sight.

  17. Hats off to Smcc they are something special. Didn't think they could do what they did to us!! Good luck the rest of the way!! Go BUCS!!

  18. Wow, SMCC continues to prove this year may be the best SMCC team has had under Giarmo. And that's coming from someone who was on the 2009, 2010 state championship run teams. To only have given up 14 points in 6 league games is unreal, even if the league is having a down year.

They continue to prove that their "small lineman" have the technique and discipline to move bigger bodies week after week. Jack Giarmo realizes these kids have potential to win a state championship. Keeping them disciplined and on track should be a huge priority.

SMCC has outscored Airport, Milan, and Riverview 104-7 in the past 3 weeks.

    Domination.

  19. Huron played well in the second half an airport look like they went a little conservative tough loss a specially after playing a inspired first half. I think that cost them the playoffs don't see them getting in at 5-4 and that's awsoming winning out

  20. Man, I think it's funny people are gonna rip on riverview hard because they lost the league champs. I mean, so has everyone else, and I would put money on it that everyone left will too.

  21. Sounds like Riverview took a whoopin tonight, that CC team is gonna do great things in the post season. It wouldn't surprise me if they take home a title this year.

    1. Over rated? They barely lost to a great Huron team, and CC is THE best team in the league. Talk about someone stirring the pot, you just poured it in a blender.

  22. This SMCC team would beat many of the past teams Jack has coached, man they are special…..up on a good riverview 27-0 at half. hope giarmo doesnt let up on the gas pedal…..he usually has in the past, but with a smaller rosterhe keeps the boys in longer, but is a classy guy
