  1. Spare me 8:54AM. You need to revise your statement that 'CC cannot help it'. I am quite certain Monroe Public Schools would be glad to update their little league football field if it was funded. It's about the almighty dollar so cough up some bucks for improvements or better yet, fund your own field…Have you ever seen OLSM or JLC fields…just saying…

  2. Monroe Public Schools owns Navarre Field and will not make improvements to it no matter what SMCC says. Please revise your statement 2:03 poster. TLDR: CC cannot help it.

  3. Clinton please be aware that SMCC's home field is terrible, change your spikes to play in deep crap. Also, practice playing after dark with no lights. SMCC's field has horrible lighting. Lastly, bring your own chairs, bleachers are tiny, no room. They are still praying to get some better ones.

  4. People usually associate transferring with jumping from one school to another without moving.. Hartwick 's family moved to the Huron district in February of his freshman year.

As an AD I get many new kids at my school each year. The first question I ask, "did you transfer or move"? They all know what I mean.

  5. Chris, Hartwick did in fact transfer to huron. He played his first year at Milan and then his family moved to Huron township so he transferred schools. When you go from one school to another its a transfer. Doesn't matter if its school of choice or move. Just wanted to point that out.

  6. Football speed is NOT the same as track speed. Sure, track is great for football players, but most world class sprinters fail in the NFL.

    1. Both of the View's track stars last year got recruited and are playing college football. Friday night they could of used a fast guy or two. Good season. Will come back stronger next year.

  7. Sexton can really fly. More of a track guy. Hartwick is 0 to full speed in two steps. Great football speed. Lindeman can fly too!. I would be interested in seeing everyone's 40 time. The Huron League has plenty of fast players. Funny thing is that Huron has three guys on the team faster than Matt Hartwick.

  8. Wake up people. Clinton reloaded from last years state finalist team. Poore and Sexton are as good and faster than anyone in the Huron league. They gave Ithaca everything they wanted last year. Dominated their league, much like SMCC did and run the ball with purpose. They make Lindeman and Hartwick look slow. So hold your horses on the SMCC Ford Field visit or showdown with JLC. Redskin country is coming to town…….to win!!!

    1. The only reason you clowns were at Ford Field is because we were in D5 and Constantine was down. Your schedule is a joke sp enjoy the bus ride to Monroe. See you Friday,

  9. Riverview wasn't even supposed to make the playoffs. It's a transition year for them, so the fact that they made it that far is pretty impressive with a first year coach and a new playbook they had to learn after they've grown up on running the same plays since they were in city league. They'll be dangerous next year. Maybe even a league title. Go Bucs!

  10. First of all Clinton hasn't played anyone all year and it will show this week. Better pack some cleanex for your long ride home. Great 10-1 season!

  11. A dumb, generic comment. Who should play tougher non conf games? Who is crabbing about it!?
That is just a low level statement…wins get you to postseason…not good losses against teams you are reaching for….especially for developing programs , not perennial contenders

  12. Huron not getting enough credit ? Nice work whoever established the jr program and even smarter not joining the downriver jr program. But didn't I read that hartwig was a milan transfer ? That sure added the straw to stir the drink. You guys need to start loving the coaches too — offensive schemes and utilization of talent was spot on

  13. SMCC and Huron should both win next week. The league has prepared them well for these types of games. Both are playing at home due to their fine seasons. Good luck to both teams. I know that they will represent the league well.

  14. 11:33 am You must be new to the area

St. Mary Catholic Central 2010 Div 6 Runner up
Monroe County has a very rich state playoff history.

  15. Huron doesn't seem to get enough credit here. Not much talent in the division? We, like all of our division, play with what we have. We started an excellent junior football program to be able to be in the spot we are now. Our Seniors this year are the first group of boys to complete junior football from kindergarten on and it has paid off! These boys have been played since they've been 5 and are teamed up with the juniors that have done the same! They have great talent, great sportsmanship, love for the game and each other
and great fans that meet them at the gate every time they walk off the field, win or lose! They play from they heart! GREAT SEASON HURON! May you win it all!

    1. It is what it is … deal with it. Back in the day there were 9-0 teams that didn't make the playoffs. Just be glad Clinton has the opportunity to prove themselves on the field.

  16. Grosse Ile had a rough match-up with Chelsea. Those guys are solid year in year out and play some tough competition all year. You guys played tough and had a good season, congrats on all your accomplishments.

Riverview didn't have what it took. It seems that the second half of their season was a lot tougher than the first half. A very solid team that was matched up with a strong Huron team. Again, proud to see the View in the playoffs, hope they can continue being a strong HL team in the future.

Congrats to Huron, I've been impressed with your team's performances all year and you're showing your strong play continues after the regular season. Trenton will be a HUGE test, but I think it'll be a great game.

Onto my Falcons. That was domination. 56-0 halfway into the 2nd quarter is insane. I expected a big win, but not a massacre. I guess I was right in saying CC would be a little upset after that loss. Now comes the gauntlet that is Districts and Regionals. I stand by what I said in my statement that SMCC may be in the toughest region in the state. Let's analyze Clinton.

Clinton is an undefeated team who hasn't played against much competition. They barely beat Morenci 28-26, but Morenci is a damn good Class D school. I think besides that game, Clinton plays in a weak conference that doesn't prepare them in a way that SMCC is prepared for a Clinton. By no means do I think this game is going to be a blowout, but SMCC will frustrate Clinton greatly.

    42-27 SMCC

Now, the winner of this game will have to play JLC, and I'm saying it again, the winner of this region will be state champs

  17. Stunned to see both of Hurons first two offensive plays from scrimmage went for TDs. Riverview came to play, but it had to be very self defeating to drive the field to score, then to have Huron come back and score on a singular play from the LOS. Sorry to see these two teams squared off in the first round too, but Riverview has nothing to hang their heads about. They showed up to play and had a very nice season.

  18. I'm sorry guys, but like I said all season, league is not that good. from 4 to 2 first week, probly down to 1 next weekend and no teams after 3rd week. I would like to see better but when we get outside that Monroe County, Huron League box, we just aren't that good. We do good for our population, but not much past that.

  19. Hated to see Riverview lose, but will now cheer for Huron to carry the flag of the league. I grew up watching Huron as a doormat for 30+ years, it is nice to see their program turn around. Good luck and beat Trenton!

  20. Congrats to Huron & SMCC for advancing. If Huron wins next week they are guaranteed a home game in Round 3 cause Allen Park lost tonight. EM

  21. Good call on the grass lake and smcc score chris lol gave grass lake 1 more point than they did and CC almost doubled it lol
