I think SMCC took out two years of frustration on Milan Friday.
Huron’s offensive line was impressive on Friday.
That is the Grosse Ile team that everyone expected.
Riverview showed some class this week against Flat Rock
Looks like the playoffs are all but gone for Milan this season
It was fun to watch Jefferson throw the ball around on Friday.
Airport played Grosse Ile on the wrong day.
Looks like the Rams were in it for a quarter on Friday
How many interceptions does SMCC’s Bryce Windham have on the season?
Huron’s Devin Collins did a great job on Jefferson’s Brandon Liparoto Friday.
GI’s Andrew Mitroka threw for 200 yards Friday.
Riverview has a very good offensive line.
Not having a JV team two years ago is finally catching up with Milan.
You have to be able to defend the pass people.
SMCC/Riverview could be a good game.
If you could pick one league QB, who would it be?
Jefferson’s Carter Paddy is a really good football player. I swear he made every tackle on Friday.
Anyone still think Airport is making the playoffs?
Mitroka would be RB at CC… don't kid yourself.
If Mitroka played at SMCC he would be the QB. Windham would be a WR.
If you look back in all of these threads not one says that kull is a bad qb. In fact he is talented but people are just making a case of they think are the better ones. In these 80 posts five qbs have been mentioned. And what has been nice no one has had to criticize the other to make their point. Stop being so sensitive. Stop reading then!
You all need to remember that the qb isn't the only player on the field, they don't block, play defense, cover on special teams. you can't judge a qb based on wins/loses just because some one is on a bad team doesn't mean that they should be disqualified form being a good qb.Drew Brees went to Purdue, and if you judged by w/L, he would be mediocre qb. This blog i've noticed isn't very informative just a bunch of bias opinions and most people have vendetta against Jefferson
Uh, because he is a threat to score every time he touches the ball, which is every play because it is snapped to him.
Kroll is the best Passing quarterback in the league. Both years I've seen him play he stays in the pocket, avoids tackles, and makes plays. Best arm in the league. Riverview should use him more and they would have beaten huron this year. – Huron fan
Not best arm in league passing isn't a threat.running he is
Ratings can be distorted what kind passes .yards per attempt is important. Watching film on Jefferson Qb he has very good rating if u chose. Graded out vs airport very high
I think Chris, that may be more because of the supporting cast than the QB, in probably both cases. We were comparing QB's only and their stats, not the success of their respective teams
Windham has intercepted more passes than he has thrown.
He has thrown at least one TD pass vs every team this year except the last one.
So Chris, now that your familiar with Mitroka's QB ranking- a below average 75.1-why do you keep mentioning him so many times on the blog EVERY WEEK?
8:49 – Not better from week one? Thank you for watching all of Milan's games this season. OK, I'm assuming you haven't done that.
Here's a question for you, regardless of how many Milan games you have indeed watched this season: name a Senior on the team healthy enough to play tomorrow. No peeking at those rosters (or Chris's season preview!) 🙂
FWIW, I thought the team took some big strides forward against GI, but they didn't close that game out. In the games you saw, did you see any games where they lost to a worse team than them? where they beat a better team than them?
There's individual talent there, but talent isn't always enough to win. Technique and teamwork are huge, along with many other factors. It's what makes football great, right?
Thanks Chris exactly what I was taliking about in managing a game and doing whatever it takes to help your team WIN. Take all the passing yards and rushing yards who is making a big play when the team needs it. Stats are overrated the only stat that should count is wins and losses. And Harwick has won some games!
Shane brooks by far best football player at jefferrson
They play grosse ille Friday played riverview already .analogy isn't right pro to high school no comparison. Jefferson qb plays on team not on par with rest of league.give Jefferson player credit .I know blog promotes C.C.Huron view
Those stats include Riverview? Grosse Ile? I'm not saying he doesn't lead the league. I just know those schools aren't included. I would be more interested in his QB rating. Do you know what that is? Hartwick's rating is 125.5, Mitroka's is 75.1. Send me all stats including yards, completion %, TD's and Int's and I can figure it out.
Here is a quick analogy. Last season Stafford threw for more yards than Russell Wilson. Wilson won the Superbowl while Stafford missed the playoffs and golfed
Wilson had a better team, coach, plays, play calling, scheme.
I agree kull is good just on a bad team, jefferson has trouble with o-line and running game. makes him rush throws seems to be under pressure a lot. The league this year has good qb's almost everyteam
He was 2nd in the region behind Summerfield's qb who has over 1,000 yards
The info for passing was in the Monroe Evening News Kull is 1st in the Huron League and 2nd behind the Summerfield QB in Monroe County overall. Kull has 845 yards
Monroe paper had stats last night he leads league.by wide margin second in county behind summer field qb..
Drew kroll..riverview fans come on now. Hartwick, mitroka, and windham are possible college players. Kroll is an average high school qb at best. Dont be ignorant.
He is leading the league in passing yards? Where did you find that info?
He's second last time I checked still pretty good
Kull is a junior and is leading the league in passing yards
Trace Lindemen is the best running back in the whole league look what he has done as a sophomore started as a freshmen and one of the hardest working players on and off the field. I played with him last year very talented and he is Milan football right now his freshmen year rushed for 1238 yards on 158 carries and now in his sophomore year with a depleted team he has 716 yards on 113 carries
Actually he had close to 1600 yds as freshman lead Washtenaw cty.
Just post all at one time instead of 3 separate ones lol.
I don't dissagree with anyone, and I haven't seen Windham play. I can say Windham could be the best 3 sport athlete I've seen in a while. I'm not being a homer but Someone should have at least mention Kull. he's a Junior too. makes some mistakes but has a very high ceiling
Kulll has a lot upside line is not best no run game if his team was better would be one of best in league
Windham is better right now
Put Windham in a passing system and develop him and he's better than every QB.
Great job on the blog Chris, I really look forward to coming here and seeing yours and everyone else's opinion on the league! Thank you!
Drew Kroll is the best QB in the league, with Hurons QB close behind and mitroka right behind them if he wasn't injury plagued he'd be competing for best with Kroll.
I think 10:51 doesn't understand the implied
10:10 great comment . Agree 100%
If I were starting a team, I would take Hartwick. Only a junior, I would have him another year.
That's the beauty of it. That is why cc is the best team. Control Harwick and mitroka and win the game. Just saying in the head to head between teams windham outplayed both of them and made bigger plays in those games. Managing the game means making good decisions with the ball and keeping things calm not calling plays. As far as last weeks game they scored the first four or five times they touched the ball running it. Why throw it?
Cant we just agree that all the guys mentioned are pretty darn good. I would be very happy to have any of them start for me if I were coaching. Choosing the best of those mentioned is splitting hairs.
Come on guys ask any D – coordinator in the league when they play GI their total game plan is to stop Mitroka, when teams play huron Harwick is one or two as players to stop. When teams play cc they talk about stopping the running backs, Windham I believe threw the ball less than 5 times last week and ran 3-4 times . He is solid will need to step up and make some plays if the are going to play at Ford field. But the other two boys have to carry their teams for them to be successful. As far as managing a game I think this done by the coach on the side line I don't think any of the QB' s are doing audibles
You must include the Riverview QB when you talk about the best. Its a 4 man race.
Windham has scored twice on runs the last 2 games. 20 yard variety. Windham and Hartwick are different QBs. Both are very good.
Hartwick and mitroka very well be their teams best running back also. But to manage a game and have to lead a team windham would be my choice. Has played a lot of big games for them in all sports. Splitting hairs on all 3 each one of them is very good.
Again, this is apples to oranges. Harwick needs to do more for his team against weaker opponents. Harwick did nothing against SMCC. While CC beats everyone by 3 scores Windham isn't needed every play like Harwick. Not to mention the daggar he threw right before the half to put Huron away.
Windham passes well, but doesn't run quite like Harwick. Harwick can air it out one play, then take a QB draw 30 yards on the next play. Haven't seen Windham do that.
Harwick is a better rounded quarterback than windham
50 for cc is a beast too. Powerful.
Mitroka: 7 TDS and 7 Ints. with a QB rating of 75. Not exactly steller numbers.
I agree that Windham is best quarterback in the league. Not even close. The other guys only dominate when playing weaker team's. I think many of the quarterbacks in the league are pretty good. Something the league does not see too often. I think the Cole kid from Airport will be player to watch next year.
Jefferson Qb will be fun to watch next year.being on a team struggling is hard he if played for other teams would be noticed.have to account for his passing ability when we're game planing.
As a Huron fan at yge game Friday Paddy is one heck of a football player
Mitroka and GI have been shut out by the 2 good teams they have played this year. Putting big numbers up against sub par teams isn't the same. The kid from Huron has looked good at times but doesn't throw the ball like Windham. In my opinion Windham would be the best QB in the league no matter which offense he was in. If CC struggled to run the football like Huron and GI he would have the passing numbers of the other two.
Who are the best running backs in the league?
Windham is a much better passer than both mitroka and Hartwick
Cc Qb is not top five passer in league.
Kull is one if the best passers in the leauge if not the best he does not have a run game and no time to throw if he had those he would be a stud
Glad to see some positive recognition going the way of Jefferson's Paddy. He didn't get the chance to make his mark in the Bears' game vs. Milan, but he was absolutely everywhere during their team scrimmage. He definitely stood out.
Who are the best LB's in the league
SMCC/Riverview will be a great game. I believe they match up well. Riverview is hard hitting and has a good D-line, should be a battle with CC's O-line.
Paddy, Girt, Bausman, Friar, Krug.
Good O-line.
In my opinion Mitroka is the best QB in league. Throws a great pass, an can run it to. Huron kid second Windham third, Airport will not make playoffs can see them getting past Huron or Tecumseh.(can't defend pass) But you never know, they have to much talent not to get in this year. But not playing up to ability.
#81 for CC is Riley Woolford.
-NPG
What about Trombley from GI? Defensively he is a power house. Averaging 8 tackles a game. He's a sophomore.
Best qb on field cc-GI game wasn't mitroka watch the film. Easy to put up stats against bad teams. kid from riverview also solid. Saying anyone this year is far better is kinda a reach. All teams are getting pretty good qb play
Jefferson Qb does reallywell.with lack of run game .
Maps are up. Tough road in D3 for Huron and View. They will be matched up with the likes of Allen Park, Tecumseh, OLSM, Dewitt. Of course there is a good chance they will play each other. Hopefully not in the first round however.
-bn
The TE Tackle combo from cc Kyle Bausman and Riley Woolford are my picks for best line men
Mitroka is by far the best QB. Can't say too much about his supporting cast. Also I don't know the kids name but number 81 from SMCC is a beast. The other kid I really like is 45 from Riverview. These 3 kids have stood out in my opinion. #9 Dad
Sorry all KW I had a lot of last minute wedding prepping and my vows to write (the day before) so it was either get all that done or I was gonna be divorced before I was even married. LOL!
KC
Mitroka had thrown for 445 yards and 6 td's past two games and has looked very dominate running again
Girt from Airport
Paddy from Jefferson
Gilliam from GI
Krug from Huron
Bausman from SMCC
Thats my line
Gardocki from Riverview
Airport's playoff chances took a major hit with the loss on the island because i have a hard time seeing them beat Huron this week. Alot of good QB's in the league, i would probably go with Mitroka with Hartwick & Windham not far behind. EM
You better be talking offensive line if you're mentioning McKay. Cause the game against GI I saw he got pushed around on defense. TS
Borgart, Paddy, Bausman, Camilleri and Krug. This would be my line.
I'm going to have to vote Mcnastys the best local Watering hole to hit before a game for sure. That's coming from a Bear. See we can all live in harmony. Paddy has had a good couple of last games he is coming into his own
Best Lineman in the League:
McKay- Huron
Paddy- Jefferson
Gardocki-Riverview

Game of the week voting… and I would say Bausman #71 for CC probably belongs in the lineman conversation…
I was really impressed with Paddy. Krug from Huron and Borgert from Riverview are both very good as well. I'm sure I am missing a few.
Chris, who do you think is the most effective two way line man? From what you have seen.
After the season, we should all meet at McNastys …. would probably help the decorum.
Huron O-line did look good!! Devin Collins I think was very impressive along with Fryer @ running back. I really see improvements in Jefferson Offensive flow I think they could really win 2 of the last 3. They just need to play good this week V.S G.I. Also K.C I was at McNastys for a pre beer didn't get a Chance to get you one for your last day of Freedom.
It does look like Milan's playoff hopes are gone. We still believe we can win out and maybe get some help to get in at 5-4. Some will say we make excuses but not really. My opinion is we should be 4-2 right now. I will not go into the whole "we lost because of" in the games I feel we should have won. But I will say that we still have not played to our potential. We get Flat Rock this week and I'm not saying it's a sure win, but if we can get going in the right direction, do some things in a more constant level of play we should be ok. Playoffs are doubtful but we can still salvage a season. I still believe we have the best coaches at Milan and in my opinion they do an outstanding job. I'm looking forward to 2 more years of high school football and I know Milan will be working hard to get better. #9 Dad
A good program is a consistent one. Milan dont look better from week one to now. 3-6 wont be a salvage season. And you have good players with size.
