  1. A look at Marshall's team, from the Battle Creek Enquirer:

Marshall has missed the playoffs in four of the last five seasons and is coming off two years in which it went 3-6 and 2-7, respectively. With a new coaching staff and new offense, Marshall is hoping to turn things around.

"With all the new stuff, we are kind of a squeaky wheel right now and we are trying to oil that up. We have our plays in, now we just need repetition. But we are going to look to run the ball in our multiple formation offense," Stealy said.

With only eight total returning starters combined on both sides of the ball, Marshall will have to lean on the experience it has.

Chris Upright is returning all-league player at linebacker and will anchor the defense, as well as see the ball as a running back on offense. Other key players on defense, include Davonte Gonzalez, a returner at linebacker, and Corey Dexter, who comes back for his defensive end spot.

The offensive line brings back some experience in Ryan Westrick, who as an all-league honorable mention selection last year, as well as Justin Holcomb and Jackson Friend, who both saw time as starters a year ago.

Look for Forrest Jackson to have a big season at running back, as he will share the ball with Upright in the backfield.

    Predicted order of finish

    (Consensus of coaches)

    2014 record in parentheses

    1. New Boston Huron (11-2, 6-1), 2. Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central (13-1, 7-0), 3. Milan (4-5, 3-4), 4. Riverview (6-4, 4-3), 5. Grosse Ile (7-3, 5-2), 6. Carleton Airport (4-5, 2-5), 7. Monroe Jefferson (2-7, 1-6), 8. Flat Rock (0-9, 0-7).

  3. Adrian is in a state of transition after their long time coach stepped down, so hopefully Airport can take advantage. SMCC-Tecumseh should be interesting as the post Giarmo era begins. I'm thinking the league goes 7-1 with Jefferson as the only loss. EM

  4. The Milan – Marshall game was close last year as both teams showed their youth. It's a long road trip against a team trying to impress a new coach. I'm hoping that Marshall doesn't have their schemes installed quite yet, but there's no reason to assume a blowout. This will be a nice test for the Big Reds to establish their defense and to find their identity on offense with Lindeman on the shelf for a while.

  5. Hoping Jefferson will be closer and I believe it will. If we can get any confidence who knows we could pull out a Win!! If we don't hopefully we do'nt automatically slip into heads down and here we go again. This game is huge for this Team Sounds crazy but it is

  6. Adrian will not be good. Don't think airport will be either. Toss up. Smcc will roll Tecumseh with Coach Robb's head spinning lol. GI will get beat by Parma. Maybe by 3 scores.

  7. Chris you have alot of guts. I like that. You probably know alot more about these teams than we think we do .Good luck with these picks. This should be a fun and interesting year.

  8. I think Airport losses …agree wth everything else. Would love to see fr win. Milan will roll marshall badly. I don't see Jefferson playing with ida at all
