Airport @ Flat Rock

Airport (1-3) is coming off of a 41-19 loss to Riverview while Flat Rock (1-3) lost at Grosse Ile 56-14. Airport won last year’s game 56-21 and leads the all-time series 30-26.

Airport’s usually solid defense was scorched last week by Riverview. Senior RB Dylan Meiring was his usual self on offense and will most likely get a bulk of the carries this week.

Flat Rock played a solid first half last week against Grosse Ile until the wheels came off. Senior QB Justin Roberts continues to be a bright spot for the Rams.

This is a great rivalry that has sputtered somewhat over the last 20 years. This could be a good game, but I think Airport’s defense and ground game will be too much. Pick: Airport 28 Flat Rock 13

  1. If Airport goes 2-7 or 3-6 this year(which is almost a certainty), will the heat be on the Head Coach. How serious does Airport take Varsity football? They got a nice taste of success under Redmond but it all seems to be slipping away.

  2. Johnny outlaw is as good as they come. He is a legend at Flat Rock and one of the main reasons I really loved football. I am glad to see he is still coaching!

  3. I expect Airport's offense to finally get healthy against Flat Rock's defense. Look for Meiring to have a big game. Gonna try to make the JV game tonight. EM
