Flat Rock is coming off of a 60-6 victory over Summit Academy while Milan lost to Marshall 20-19. Milan won last year’s game 42-14 and lead the all time series 23-10.
Flat Rock looked good getting their first win in over two years. The Rams will get a chance to find out how much they have improved when they meet the Big Reds. Seniors Justin Roberts and Jalen Smith will lead Flat Rock’s offense again this week. Zac Tennison and Anthony Higginbotham will lead a defense that will be forced to tackle in space against Milan.
Milan will most likely be welcoming Trace Lindeman back to the line up this week although don’t be surprised if he sits out until the following week. Junior QB Demetrius Barnes has emerged as a serious home run threat on every snap of the ball. Cortez Gray leads a physical Big Reds defense.
I would like to think this would be a close game, but this appears to be a mismatch. Flat Rock has really improved, but Milan will challenge for a league title. Pick: Milan 34 Flat Rock 13
Flat Rock parent here… In my previous comment I meant no disrespect to the rest of the Milan team. You are correct that they should have won regardless, and that one player does not make or break a team. #9 is a special player, however, and I have to believe if he was playing, that he may have broken a long one that could have been the difference in the game. Good luck tomorrow!
Thanks for the reply Flat Rock parent. I know most kids work very hard to improve and none of them want to lose. I would never boast that "we would have won if my kid played", cause we should have won last week without him. Can one kid a difference? Sure, but one kid will not win a game.
I'm sure this week will be a pretty good game. The one thing I have said about FR, they will continue to play you, no matter what. And that you can build from.

#9 Dad,
Flat Rock parent here. Could not agree with you more. Anyone who thinks that Lindeman does not make a difference is kidding themself. Having him in the game with what appears to be a very mobile QB, puts tremendous pressure on the defense. I will say it for you and all other Milan supporters – you would have won last week with him playing. Flat Rock has a challenge this week, to be sure. They are very much improved, but Milan will be competing for a league title when all is said and done. Hoping for a well played, competitive game, and am excited to see how the Rams measure up to one of the top teams in the league. Good Luck!
I'm a Milan dad and I will not put down any kid on any team. Last year I made a comment about Mitroka and someone blew out of paportion. Just like Matroka, Liindeman is a key player. Losing him takes away from the "teams ability", not that a team can't win with out a key player, but puts more load on another. I for one hope every game is very competitive. And I hope each player learns from the mistakes they make every week.
We made a bunch of mistakes last week and it cost us a win, that's why we lost. Not because we missed a key player, but because we as a team failed to execute in the field. Milan will be just fine. They will compete for a Huron title. Good luck to everyone this week.

I would be willing to bet that isn't a Milan dad.
We will see how improved FR is. You beat summit…eaay. Milan will score 60
Milan players are upset. Wouldn't want to play them on Friday. They win by 50
@ 6:34….. It's ok to be predictable when a team can't stop the run game. I was at the game. Barnes struggled to throw, but he will be fine. Great kid. Ran for over 200 yds averaging about 8 yds a carry. Milan controlled the game without their best player being hurt. His passing struggles weren't the reason they lost. And kids do struggle at times. Come on Milan Dad. You have an axe to grind? Who talks trash about their sons teammate? Pretty sad in my opinion. Feel bad our kids have to read comments like this, especially if you're really a parent. This is the only reason I dislike the blog Chris. People downgrading their own kids teamates. Laughable
Milan Fan
It's not downgrading. It's called being truthful. You can't put makeup on a pig and expect everyone to call it a princess. Nothing he said was out of line. He said the school you played was mediocre and you guys didn't play your best. Where's the harm? Take what he said. Turn it into motivation for your team. And learn from it.

Unstoppable you mean 1 player being out was the cause of last week's loss.
No it gives Mllan more depth with running the ball. When you have more than one running back that can get the job done neither will run out of gas at the end of the game. It takes a whole team to win but losing 1 important asset can make a difference. Of course we have to make our extra points too. It takes every player to win a game.
With the team Milan has this year and combine that with Barnes and Lindeman, Milan should be unstoppable as long as they stay heathy which showed last week that they need every player to win and make it to the finals.
Milans gonna have to do a little more then just run that QB left and right. It's pretty predictable. Somebody bring a 12 gauge and shoot whatever that QB try's to throw. Might be closer then u think, don't want to let a team starving for a win hang around late in the game.
Milan dad
Good luck to Flat Rock. I know ever kid works hard and when you get that win it shows how hard you work. Last weeks game was not even a test for the rams. This week will be a much different story.
Milan played a very bad game against a medeoker team and lost. I look for them to come out with a chip on their shoulder and make a major statement.

I hope flat rock wins
Lol. Hope is all they have!
I think flat rock will keep things a little closer
