  1. Seems my man O-dog wasnt at the game.

Riverview did attempt an extra point, the HOLD was mishandled.. the snap was plenty good enough, a bit low but good enough. xtra point NO GOOD

Riverview also tried a FG and the same happened but this time the snap was a bit high. However again, it was plenty good enough. FG NO GOOD

On the 2nd view TD they went for 2. They lined u in a "Power I left"(LIZ), the QB(5) ran a power keep around left end, following all 3 backs but was ran down by 47 Laplante. Conversion NO GOOD

About Riverview- They will win some games in the league, no doubt. 33 & 45 are put together like you want a football player to look like. The team was big everywhere actually. Only weak spot I saw was at the QB spot. It was a great win for CC.

    1. 45 and 33 are the same kid. Tyler Chase. He had a jersey problem, so switched to 33.

The snapping was mostly low but very inconsistent the entire game.

  2. GREAT coverage by the Jefferson DB but #5 just wanted it more. Jefferson looked very improved against GI in the second half after facing a tough Ida team the week before

  3. Did anyone see #5 on Grosse Ile catch those two jump balls? Near perfect coverage by the Jefferson DB but outstanding plays. Best catches I have ever seen in person.

    1. Funny, I was just going to add #5 to the week 2 star list that Chris has on the new post. A team can have a rough game but great moments can still happen. That young man can jump 10 feet, and the spirit to jump more if it helps his team. Always 110%, no matter the sport. He's a great leader and a good kid too. Hopefully he, and the few vetrans on the team, can inspire the Devils back in rhe win column.

  4. Old School Jefferson football is back! We should all be proud of the JHS athletes and coaches. It takes a team to win and these kids, "ALL OF THEM" did it. They looked great and worked hard this week. There needs to be nothing but positive vibes at this level. Sit back and enjoy the season Bear fans, this is a GREAT group of GOOD kids!

  5. Riverview attempted a PAT kick after the first TD, but bad snap and failed. They attempted a FG and the holder couldn't get the ball down. Then they tried for 2 after their 2nd TD. This ended up being the difference in the game. It was a good game.

  6. Airport gave up 24 to Adrian. I was at the Huron game. Mossburg had a nice game plan to stop Huron's offense. Chief starters were out at the beginning f the fourth qtr.

Huron is very physical and so is Milan. I would say Huron's defensive line is better than last year.

  7. @ 12:51

Riverview never went for a PAT or a field goal. They went for 2 after both of their touchdowns and missed both. I dont know what you heard "missed extra point and field goal" from.

    1. They went for a PAT the first time but the snap was botched, forcing them to scramble attempt the two point conversion. Not sure what game you were watching.

  8. Anyone at the Huron game this week? Confused how their "explosive offense" only put up 29 on an Airport team that gave up 28 to a bad Adrian team

  9. I think the league this year has four tiers:

    Top: Huron
    Challengers: SMCC, Milan, Riverview
    Questionables: Jefferson, GI
    Sorry FR: Flat Rock

Wouldn't be suprised to see a member of the second tier upset Huron. Jefferson could be a sleeper this year, it'll be interesting to see how they do against that second tier. Apologies flat rock, you might eek out another win this year.

I'm excited for Milan – Riverview next week. That'll be a great game. SMCC seems to have improved their defense, and Riverview must have had a good game plan to stop SMCCs. Huron will be tough to take down this year.

  10. Even nothing. Refs were bad, but c'mon, the game was won in the kicking game only. One bad call, though, on fourth and short, the hair on the football doesn't count as an extra two inches. And, technically, you're not allowed to run into the punter while he's kicking the ball.

    1. Riverviews special teams play was dismal. They have to improve the long snapping. The botched extra point and field goal could have made the difference. And on offense the QB had to bend down to catch the snap about 80% of the time.

  11. Wow I don't know how the refs was helping Riverview !! Just because Riverview stopped that smcc offense and only held them to 14 points…it was a great game cc won …but don't down play Riverview defense they came ready that's it!!

  12. Lol damn. If it ain't recruiting then it's the refs. Can't we all just say good game and get along?

Congrats Huron, CC, Milan, and Jefferson on your wins this week! The weeks ahead are gonna be a little tougher for ya

    KC

  13. Smcc defense made huge strides tonight. Smash mouth football at its best. I thought refs were helping Riverview all night. Both teams were hitting extremely hard.

  14. What a game! Riverview definitely came to play. They threw everything at CC including the kitchen sink, and fortunately the Falcons won. A 2 point win is still a win, but this CC team definitely needs work. Mainly on tackling. Too many arm tackles broken for big gains. Too many big plays given up. Too many missed opportunities. Fortunately, they were able to stop Riverview when it counted. Now that I'm home, I gotta take my blood pressure medicine.

    1. What's not impressive about winning a fist fight that went the distance… That was old school football from the two most physical teams in the league

  15. Huron vs SMCC 2 weeks from tonight should be a great game. I think the winner will do no worse than share the league title. EM

  16. Milan's defense will step it up from here on out. They have something to prove. It's going to be hard to stop the offense. It can be pretty explosive. The defense will be the question mark. And I think the defense will be solid and improve each week.

    1. Totally different. Lindeman would have ran for 300 yards if he played the first half. That kid is for real! Can't wait to see him play a whole game!

  17. Don't sleep on Riverview this year, those kids were hitting and moving to the ball… good to see some ol smash mouth back and forth Huron League Football… Anyone's game to the last whistle…. And Congrats to Jefferson on the comeback win… Shaping up to be another great year of football…

    1. I really don't know what your coach was thinking. The first quarter FR was moving the ball. I think your QB is one of the best in the league. He needs a few more players around him. I tip my hat to the FR team, they never stopped playing. They made a few mistakes and it hurt them. Watching them play tonight I truely believe they will get 3 wins for sure. I think they win against Airport and GI. Maybe even Jefferson. Hope you guys have a great season.

  18. Overall Huron looks solid. The defense looks better than last years. It will be very interesting when they play the top teams in thr league. EM

  19. My guy took over one of the worst power confrence teams in America (Stanford) and by the end of his 4th year they were 12-1 and #2 in the nation. He took over a 49ers team that hadn't been good in a decade. First year in the nfc championship, 2nd year in the super bowl. Dantonio couldn't get to a super bowl unless he bought a ticket. He's also gonna miss his defensive coordinator. Look I know Harbaugh has no QB and a mediocre Oline at the moment, I'm not delusional I know it's gonna take time. I also believe they will pull an upset this year, possibly October 17. EM

  20. Really? Based on what? The fact that he was fired from his last job? I'm sure you're happy with your guy. My guy has shown he can win where he is at. It remains to be seen with your guy.

  21. That was a good one Chris, get them in while you can. You and I both know Harbaugh can coach circles around your boy Dantonio. EM

  22. Jefferson didn't play all that well, GI played badly. Same story, different Friday. They were stronger during the first half and then fell apart in the 2nd, just as they did at Parma. Poor blocking didn't help. A team like the Bears shouldn't be able to run the ball like that on any defense. Time to get tough and play the entire game like it's the first quarter.

  23. The Bears had a helluva week at practice. Hard work, hard hitting – trying to get back to hard-nosed ball. Proud of the Bears and the Bear Faithful. Those coaches are all guys that came up in the program and even though it's taking some time, they are going to reignite some pride in that program. Good kids that needed this win. While it's true that one upset victory means very little, could be a great spark for the Bears (at least for them to see what a week of practice like that and the right attitude can do).

  24. Upset of the year. Grosse Ile has not lost to Jefferson in years. It's going to be a long season on Grosse Ile if they don't change the D …….

  25. From what I remember flat rock had the ball on Milan's 35 but it was 4th and long. Flat Rock had just as much trouble as Milan moving the Ball. Milan May have been struggling with the snap, But Flat rock was having trouble with their pitch. It would have been a good game with the winner being the team that won the turnover battle.

    1. What game where you at flat rock only had 1 play that work it was the 1st play after that Milan was wining the game of moving and stopping flat rock. And there was over 5 minutes before the half.

    2. 5:53 left on the clock, they were on the 35 yard line going in. From what it looked like to me is Milan could barely get the snap to the QB let alone move the ball. Milan had one big play that's it.

      Flat Rock dad

    3. The game was in anyone's hands. Flat Rock wasn't moving the ball. Nor was Milan. The game was rained out just after 18 minutes.

  26. Well Chris, it was nice having you at GI for 4 and a half plays. It'll be called soon, or it'll be a long night. Bet you could use that towel now, huh? 🙂
