Airport (1-7) is coming off of a hard fought double OT 38-30 loss to Milan while Tecumseh (3-5) is coming off of a 60-27 loss to Bedford. Airport won last season’s match up 49-28 while Tecumseh leads the all-time series 23-16-1.
Airport played really well last week against Milan. Senior RB Dylan Meiring continues to lead the Jets offense. QB Bryce Cole has emerged as a passer as Airport has opened up the offense a bit. The defense is led by juniors Justin Gorteski and Brent Mossburg.
Tecumseh has fallen off a bit from last season. The offense is led by senior RB Mitch Meger who is averaging over 200 yards per game. Senior QB Jakob Coker has thrown for over 1,000 yards and had 13 TD tosses. The defense is led by senior MLB Landon Pelham.
I expect this game to be high scoring and I hope Airport can keep it close. Prediction: Tecumseh 49 Airport 28
With both teams looking for a moral victory a the end of the season this could be a fun game to watch. Offense should rule the night if the weather stays calm. Mitch Meger is fun to watch his ability to get behind the first block and explode in the open field is impressive.
Yes I am an Indian parent and I am hoping for a Tecumseh win for the seniors.
The kids from Airport wouldn't come to SMCC after their Freshman year because by then they have heard how much more homework their is. There are kids who have left SMCC to go to Monroe and Airport that confirm this.
If Airport plays anything close to last week, they have a good shot. EM
Steve Robb pulls off the victory here.
Yeah for sure. CC will just recruit a whole bunch of freshmen and win another state title. Don't worry CC will be fine.
By the way.Since you brought it up. Do you have that list of recruits ready yet?
Lets be honest here. Most of those good freshman will go to SMCC next year. Isn't that how this all works.
That would be nice, but really not likely. Can you actually name football players that came to SMCC after their Freshman year?
Coaches need to play the best players instead of favorites
A lot can change in the next 2-3 years. Whichever group of kids is more committed in the weight room will be the group to finish strong when they're seniors. Half of these kids on JV will grow a lot in 2-3 years. Half may not grow at all. I've seen Freshmen and JV teams go undefeated then have a losing record when they become seniors.
Airport's JV will go 8-1 for sure. The only programs that scared me this year at the JV level are Riverview, Huron, and CC will be better for sure. Flat Rock's JV was overrated. Not that good to me
Yes very overrated. Keep beleaving that. Lol
Or could it be the best players had to move up to fill holes on varsity.
Flat Rock JV QB could be a stud the next 2 years. Kid has a cannon. EM
Only if Airport play's the JV team
Laugh now. By the time those Freshman on JV are Juniors they might be the league favorite
Hopefully all those Freshmen played this year because you have to think of this too-Huron had a stud JV team this year with all Sophmores. All of Huron's Freshmen were playing in every game week after week. Player Development builds programs.
