Milan (5-2) is coming off of a tough 41-14 home loss to SMCC while Airport continues it’s struggles with a 42-21 Homecoming loss to Grosse Ile. Milan won last year’s game 45-27 and leads the all-time series 32-15-1.
Milan will look to get on track this week after a tough loss. The Big Reds are still a very good football team led by a solid coach and some very very good football players.
Airport has struggled all season and appears poised for their worst record in nearly 30 years. The Jets have struggled on both sides of the ball this season and things don’t get any easier this week.
Milan has the talent to make a state playoff run, but they won’t overlook Airport this week. Pick. Milan 41 Airport 6
Airport almost(only in horse shoes) beat this Milan team. Milan cant overlook this a2 team they play better competiton week in and out. Marshall has played some great football this year. I smell an upset….
Some folks underestimated Airport including you for this game. Super week of practice for Airport and the coaches had them ready to play!
Sorry I haven't been commenting much this week, been a crazy work week. A mad group of Big Reds coming to town probably doesn't bold well for Airport. Milan 35-7. EM
I think Milan has a great shot at a long run. Just my opinion.

I understand you thinking that Milan may not have a long playoff run. They don't have many in their history. Some of the best Milan teams I've seen were stymied by Jackson Lumen Christie in something like three different years around 2000-ish. More recently, the Ron Spears team made it all the way to the Regionals against DCD before losing. Other than that, they have struggled to get out of district play. I'm not such a slappy fan that I don't acknowledge my favorite team's history.
That said, this is a unique kind of team in Milan. They are very capable of making a run, but I do think that the right matchups in their playoff bracket could make their road a lot easier. Will Milan face another bruising, ball control team or a speedy mirror image of themselves? Will their opponents have faced similar offenses in their regular seasons, or will they have to learn new defensive keys in a week? I know I'll be interested in checking out Milan's playoff path as soon as the brackets are released.
I still haven't heard why anyone thinks Milan will go 1-1 in their last two regular season games. Perhaps you think the bus driver will get lost and Milan would have to forfeit…
Who is ranked #1 in division 4 right now? Country Day! Milan gave them all they could handle last season and DCD went to the semis. This year's Milan team is much much better than last season.
Wow Coach Tom, neither of Milans final oppenants I would consider BIG Boys. I meant Milan can not compete with the Big Boys they will see in the playoffs. Will be a one and done or maybe a second game at best if they are in a weak playoff.
I totally disagree with your statement. Is Riverview considered "big boys"? What about Marshall? Just because we lost to SMCC does not mean we can't play and win. Milan gets it done tonight, next week, and I'm thinking they might play for a title. That's why they play the game.

Milan will bring home the win thanks to the players dedication, the amazing coaching staff, and Cole (Best manager in the league)

Wow, 6:19, so who's gonna get Milan? 1-6 Airport or 0-7 A2 Huron? Is there any rationale behind why you would consider either of these teams "big boys" other that you being a Big Red hater?
Also, there are teams out there that are simply bad matchups for your favorite team, no matter who that is. That's why the playoff draw matters so much. It's up to the Milan players and coaches to draw as much as they can from the SMCC game so that it helps them in their playoff run. If Airport does run the SMCC defensive scheme, tonight becomes the first opportunity to benefit from last week's game. Milan would have had two weeks to prep for the same defensive looks.
I suspect that there is a big difference between *running* the SMCC defense and *being* the SMCC defense. If I'm right, we all get to see the difference tonight.
I think this Milan team might be better than any of the last few. They will get a chance to prove it.. and I think they will have a pretty good ride in districts. I think they might be the favorite. All depends on where DCD goes.

If big boys means SMCC? Then who is this league can compete with them?
And Milan has a good shot in the playoffs, especially if they get their best two way lineman back in Hendricks who was lost in week two. Most teams are pretty good once you get to week 10. Just depends who you play and match ups. A good reason why Huron went as far as they did last year. EIther way…. They only one's who get to find out are Milan and SMCC and most likely Riveriew. Congrats to all of them.
Haha. I don't think Milan has trapped the 3 tech one time this season. If you now anything about football. That would be a trap play. And they don't run trap. If Milan is so predictable to stop, why don't you stop them. Only one to do it was SMCC and controlled the clock for 80% of the game. Hats off to them and I know that comment didn't come from an SMCC fan lol. Other than that, averaging 45 points against league opponents. Going for win # 6 in a row tonight against AP.
I doubt Milan goes 1-1 as they play AA Huron and Ap. Who beats them? Milan was up on GI 41-0 at Halftime at GI. GI beat AP 42-21 on AP's homecoming.

Milan goes 1 and 1 in their next 2 games, makes playoffs then loses 1st round. Can't compete with the big boys proved that last week against CC
Airport coach's run the same defense as smcc did if you want to win. milan is so predictable trap the three tech, some power,qb run oh a few screens and a whole lot of scanning!
No way does Airpot come within 35 of Milan. They will be taking the beat down they took last week on the Jets. No offense for Airport. #9 going to go off!
I dont want to sound full of myself, but Milan does not lose this game, they are hurt, bitter, and will roll tomorrow night!
Milan: 45 -vs- Airport: 6
Big upset Airport 34 Milan 17
Wow, I forgot that Airport's been stuck on 1 win. Also, I love going to http://michigan-football.com for historical records and playoff history. All that good stuff. I didn't realize that the 80s and much of the 90s were so tough for Airport. I just knew about Redmond's record and The Streak.
This looks to be another game in the cold (40s?). It's never easy to play when the temperatures get that low, but it is good for Milan that they've already played a game in the cold this season (vs. GI) and handled the elements. Between the sting of last week's loss and a playoff berth at stake, I can't imagine Milan not coming in fired up and prepared for the game tomorrow night.

Milan wins this one by 3 TD's!! When is the last time Airport won only 1 game in a season?
Should be a good game. AP always has played Milan tough. With a win Milan will make the play offs. Take one game at a time from here on.
