Milan at Flat Rock Preview

Please be sure to check out the podcast. Milan @ Flat Rock Preview Podcast

Milan (1-0) is coming off of a week 1, 27-13 victory over Adrian while Flat Rock (1-0) is fresh off of a 48-0 dismantling of Summit Academy. The Big Reds won last years game by a score of 55-6. Milan leads the all-time series 34-10.

Milan is simply doing what Milan does on offense. It is pretty much, spread the field and let Trace Lindeman or Demetrius Barnes read the defense and go. Defensively, freshman Tristin Hines showed he belonged last week as he recorded 7 tackles and 2 interceptions.

Flat Rock used special teams last week to get things rolling against Summit then relied on junior QB Jacob Dotson to run an offense that features playmakers Sage Daniels and Anthony Higginbotham. The defense was led last week by juniors Sameer Tayeb, Mason Hamilton and Blake Montiy. They will be severely tested this week by the Big Red offense.

This is a match up of a solid program against a young, up and coming program. Both schools are led by very good coaches in Buck Reaume and Jesse Hoskins with the latter most likely the best coach in the league. The Rams are getting better, but probably a year away from beating Milan. Prediction: Milan 35 Flat Rock 21

  1. Adrian's defense was big and fast and couldn't do anything to stop Milans run game. I think Chris will agree. Milans o-line is young, but they have really good size and come off the ball hard. Flat rock has their hands full and Mike Furteny is one of the best lineman in the state. Already has a D-1 offer before his junior year has started. Might be a Big Ten kid before it's over.

  2. For FR to score 21 points they must have improved greatly. No predictions here, just hope Milan wins and no one on either side of the ball gets injured.
