Questions with the FNV Staff

Which score/result surprised you the most in week 3?

Chris: Dundee over Hudson. I did not expect this result at all. No disrespect to the Vikings, but I thought traveling to Hudson and facing a very good team was going to be too much for them. I’m happy to say they proved me wrong

Frank: Dundee over Hudson. I had to eat a lot of crow after Dundee turned in a masterful defensive performance against Hudson on the road. This win is a huge confidence builder going into a rivalry game in Week 4. In addition, the Vikings have made significant strides since Week 1.

Gary: For me it has to be Carlson getting beat like that at home. This marks the first time Carlson has lost back to back games under Giarmo.

Which team is trending up?

Chris: I picked Milan last week and obviously the Big Reds continue upward after a victory over SMCC. I think Dundee is trending up and we will find out where they really stand after next weeks rivalry game with Ida.

Frank: Milan. The Big Reds got a leg up in the Huron League with a 28-21 win over SMCC. Will Milan keep things rolling next week as Flat Rock comes to town, and possibly set up a huge showdown with Riverview in Week 5? Stay tuned.

Gary: I think Milan is a good pick here. Playing well and got a big win Friday. More big games to come but right now, the Big Reds have an upward arrow.

Which game appeals to you in week 4?

Chris: Riverview at SMCC is my pick. This is a must win for the Falcons and a chance for the Pirates to keep pace with Milan.

Frank: The easy answer for me is Ida at Dundee, since it is a rivalry game, but I’m going with Riverview at SMCC. Last year, the Falcons had a tough loss to Milan, and followed it up with a dismantling of the Pirates in Riverview. Can the Falcons bounce back, or will the Pirates land what could be a knockout punch and end the Falcons’ hopes of a Huron League Crown?

Gary: Riverview at SMCC has to be the answer here. With a win, View can make this more of a 2 team race.

  1. Frank – I’d say both games are very appealing. This is a must win game for Ida already with two losses. One to try and keep up with the race for the league. Also, is a must win for Ida if they want to keep their playoff streak alive.
