There has been some interest in me posting where some kids are possibly going to play college ball at next year.
I’ve heard some rumblings but I don’t think anything will be a definite until February or so.
I do think there are quite a few players who will be playing DIII ball next year from the league and possibly a few DII players.
If you know or are aware of any info on where some players may be headed feel free to submit it in the comments section.
milan hasten is going to norther. boxs is going to wayne state. then i think there is 2 or 3 more doing D3.
A couple of former Huron leaguers who are in college now… I just know about Milan but gunderson is at Michigan, the older box is at western, love is at Robert Morris, chie at Adrian… There are more but those are a few off the top of my head…
Didnt Ron LaBeau play at like Michigan or something?

many many players have played in college over the years from the HL. You have to refine your criteria a bit.

Good for Weclowski, but I was hoping he'd go play somewhere where he could see the field. He'll most likely be red-shirted, then possibly sniff special teams as a sophomore. Remember Adam Tedora from SMCC who went to Toledo? Tough kid, just not fast or big enough. Played all special teams, but that was it. Weclowski will get bigger, but won't be fast enough. Good Luck. I also thought he could get money (scholarship) going to a DII School. Hopefully his academics will get him some $$ at Toledo!

I believe the reason that game was brought up is because varsity players will play a team twice once their junior year and once their senior year…and yes cc has gotten stronger and faster since then but airport has improved as well? Airport fans are just sick of hearing about who beat who this year…I may have aggreed with you if he was talking about a game back in 1983 but this was this years varsity Teams game sorry but this is the truth
The chit chat about airport beating CC 21-0 needs to stop. That was then; this is now. The boys is bigger and tougher and faster than they were then and you guys seem to forget this! CC's players mightve gotten bigger and faster since that year making them beat you guys! Get over it. Let the pads do the talking when it comes to the friday night game at CC or the saturday afternoon game at airport…. Airport is NOTHING special nor is CC; all team have special players which make them all good teams; its how they execute and work together which determines a win. CC and Airport are only going to make yourself look like fools arguing over a blog and also when they both show up and get blown out because they did more talking than they did actually doing something. The 2010 year is among us and when it is; you'll see who the tough are from the weak.

Yes its true tyler has been offered to be a preffered walk on at toledo, he will play either olb or safety. Great accomplishment, i heard today that tyrone wheatley of eastern michigan is now looking at weclowski also, good stuff.. cant wait to see him playing on saturdays.

Please explain what you mean by getting players from where ever u want? I'm not even from cc and I just don't get it. There was posts under other topics that said the majority for cc's team went to a catholic grade school so I went to their website to check it out and it's true. Only like 5 didn't. Sure they were from different districts like Monroe, jefferson, airport and even one from Huron but if you go to a catholic grade school you go to a catholic high school most of the time. Yes I know there are exceptions but I think for the most part they go to a catholic high school. And I know people who went to St. Charles grade school
and went to Jefferson for high school, so there is the
exception. There is no catholic/ private high school in the
Jefferson or Airport district so if your catholic where are you
most likely gonna go?? Maybe I'm just being dumb and
stupid right now but I just don't get how you could say "get
players from where ever you want?!?! Sorry about the passing I don't know what happened.

SMCC smashed airport in october, who cares about 2 years ago???? what about the last like 7 years or somethin?? isnt smcc like 6-1 against airport. Talk about a gimmie. stop trash talking about a game back in 2008, its 2010 now

It wouldn't have mattered if SMCC had Martellis Simon for the game. CC would have still lost 21-0. Airports Defense was DOMINATING!!!

So he will be treated like a full ride player without the ride. If he bulks up they may put him on schollarship after a year or 2…. you put some weight on that kid and look out.

Yea that's right and yes everyone will be watching cc on saturday in the semi finals…but then losing again. The school didnt pay for the shirts the people who wanted them bought them, airport didnt just buy a certain amounts worth of shirts and just handed them out to whoever wanted them.

Wow I see lots has happened since the last time I was on here. People were just commenting on the topic whether it be lovell, weclowski, howey, baker, etc. Who really cares where they are from they are just responding to the post and then cc gets accused of ruining the blog?? Grow up!
Airport had shirts printed before the CC game which bragged about how they were going to beat CC. CC should be flattered that Airport went to the trouble to print shirts for the student body. Let the CC students and fans run their mouths – use it as motivation.

Anonymous at 12:02, it was people saying airport was going to beat cc by 30 or whatever they said. Go back and look. Those who said SMCC was going to win picked them to win in a close game. And nobody ruined this blog. I would be proud to if my team went to the state finals. I'm not from SMCC just so you know. I'm from riverview. Nice job Chris! I like the basketball blog too.

Thanks for liking the blog. I'm not sure if people like the blog for the content or the comments.
I would like to think people are here for the content. I have to say though during the offseason I have to rely on comments because of the lack of stuff to write on.
I enjoyed the blog myself more during the season and quite frankly can't wait until August until practice starts.
I will continue to ask questions and try and write relative stuff but it is pretty hard in the dog days of winter.
CC likes to talk? How about before the airport game when some people were saying that airport was going to kill them? Also it's not just cc posts here someone posted about weclowski and someone posted about teen as well.

Weclowski has said he is considering Northern Michigan and Lake Erie, for DII and i guess there's multiple DIII schools hes gotten offers from.

as far as smcc goes, lovell and howey would be the top recruits because lovell has the size and experince and talent. Howey has the speed and athleticism that colleges could use. His brother plays D1 i believe. Labeau is a solidhigh school player but does not do one thing great. Pannone is a junior
Panonne is not a senior. He's a junior and I thought mayrand(sp?)was a junior as well? Labeau could have gotten talked too, I don't know either way.
jefferson has no seniors who will move on.
huron- welclowski and maynard if he got lucky
grosille- Teen for sure
Flack rock- connor if he finds a school to suit him
Milan- Box for sure great stregnth and size
Smcc- Lovell is too tough not to play college ball, Pannone too, is he a senior? and i would think Labeau would have been talked to before Howey.
Riverview- They dont have any Seniors that look like they have a future, but give it a year and Big Brad Bosman will be playin saturdayss.
Airport- Jones will but for baseball and close could just because of his size but he will go baseball alsoo
TJ Lovell (SMCC)…Adrian, Albion, Concordia(they are just starting football), Pennslyvania, North Dakota, South Dakota, North Michigan, and Michigan Tech for football. Most of these schools have gone to SMCC to talk to TJ. I think thats normal though, for people to go to the school. Some of them have talked to Mike Howey has well. I have no idea on what either of them has decided, but do know these schools have contacted TJ and some contacted Mike. TJ also has some hockey teams wanting him. I know this information because I have talked to TJ and his parents.
