Gabriel Richard finished 8-3 last season while winning their 2nd consecutive CHSL Intersectional 1 title. The Pioneers fell in the 2nd round of the state playoffs to Division 7 runner-up Jackson Lumen Christi. Tom Michalsen returns as the head coach at GR.

Coaches’ Comment: We are one of the CHSL League favorites. The league championship comes down to the game @ Lutheran North. Foley and Liggett are rebuilding and will be in our playoff division (7).
FNV Outlook: Michalsen has built a nice program since arriving at Gabriel Richard. Last season’s 1st round upset victory over undefeated Clinton was a signature win for the Pioneers. Running backs Michael Holdsclaw and Nick Szczechowski give GR an excellent rushing attack. Offensive and defensive lineman John Mastrogiacamo and Mariano Desano are big bodies up front with a wealth of varsity experience. Ethan Mehall is a physical LB who leads the defense.
