Hope and Concern: Summerfield Bulldogs

By Frank Vajcner

The Hope and Concern Series marches on with Summerfield.

Biggest Reason for Hope: Strong Junior Class. I remember a conversation I had with now-former head coach Alex Lipka last year about the group of sophomores he had. That group, headlined by Tyler Dafoe and Brendan Myshock, and are now juniors, will help new head coach Dylan Szegedi keep things rolling in Petersburg.

Biggest Reason for Concern: Replacing Brandon Thompson. While one can acknowledge the returning talent for the Bulldogs, I would be remiss if I didn’t express concern for replacing do-everything running back Brandon Thompson. Thompson led the TCC in rushing, and was the team’s leading receiver. The question of whom will be the go-to option will likely be answered in preseason camp.
