Gameday Tidbits

By Chris Schultz

Here are a few tidbits and fun facts regarding tonight’s Michigan High School football games.

Dundee and Onsted have split the last 8 games that they have played, but the Vikings are only 12-29 against the Wildcats since 1950.

The last time Ida started 0-4 was in 2001 and coincidently their week 4 opponent that year was Hudson.

Prior to last years loss to Ann Arbor Huron, Bedford had won 12 straight games against the River Rats.

Monroe has lost 10 straight to Saline and the Trojans have only beaten the Hornets 3 times since 1950.

The Carlson/Trenton match up today looks like it could be a defensive struggle. The Marauders are giving up only 6 ppg while the Trojans are giving up only 10 ppg.

Whiteford is 45-4 all-time against Adrian Madison.

Erie Mason has won the last 3 games against Summerfield and is 14-9 since 1950 against the Bulldogs

Milan and SMCC have split the last 10 games. The Falcons lead the all-time series 16-11.

Jefferson has lost 9 straight games to Huron, but still lead the all-time series 36-21.

Riverview is 40-6 against Flat Rock since 1950. Coincidently, yours truly was on the field for the 1st victory over the Pirates in 1983. The score was 7-0.

Grosse Ile has won every even year match up against Airport since 2012. The teams did not play in 2020.

I will be in attendance at the Airport/Grosse Ile game tonight on the island. Game time temperature is expected to be 75 degrees with partly cloudy skies and a hint of rain (actually boat spray).
