Constantine Falcons

The Constantine Falcons enter Saturday’s matchup with SMCC with a 10-2 record. The Falcons opened the season with back to back losses to Battle Creek Pennfield and Olivet. Since then Constantine has reeled off ten straight wins.

Constantine’s closest games since the week 2 loss were against perennial power Schoolcraft on back to back weeks. In week 9 the Falcons were victorious 20-13 over the Eagle the beat them again in week 1 of the playoffs 7-3.

Constantine has made the playoffs 11 straight years since the playoff format was expanded and has not had a losing season since 1990. In that span the Falcons are an amazing 175-34. The run includes 8 one loss seasons and 8 two loss seasons.

  1. Unbelivable haters..once a hater always a hater. If CC loses than you haters will be chiming in on that to.CC is a good program and always will be,you say they play nobody and I'm sure most of you haters are from the Huron League…whats that say about your program ?CC has basicly no weight room, but they use and make the most outa what they have..they work hard and don't make excuses about why their program is still playing. If they were no good you would be haten on another team, thats what haters do…Good Luck to you CC.The HL realist support you. Haters just read dont blog.

  2. Im saying everybody is getting so high off SMCC making it this far when these teams that they are playing are garbage all im asking is why he could not post the players in the huron league that made all region yes CC is the only team still playing but the other kids still deserve their recognition that they made all region… so go beat another blind team good job

  3. And if everyone beat up CC these coments wouldn't even be posted.CC is consistant but there are other teams in the league that play them tough…so stop ur sniffling. as a matter of fact with the size of some of these school they should beat up CC. Difference is CC doesn't have students just walking the halls they all participate…and if you look it is in more than one sport, you see the same kids names mentioned in multiple sports season.

  4. OLSM, EGR, Chelsea?? Each of these teams/schools are HUGE compared to SMCC. That being said, they are only one of two teams (Airport being the other) in the HL that could at least compete with those teams. Sounds like you just want SMCC to get beat by someone (anyone)…why? BTW, Airport would be the only other team in 2009 from HL that would have made it this far in D6…and shouldn't they?

  5. The only teams in the HL that would make a run in D6(other than SMCC)would be Airport and Milan. However Airport and Milan more than double the enrollment that is required to play D6 year in and year out. All the other teams in the HL would have lost to Harper Woods in week 1.

SMCC dodges nobody when it comes to their schedule. They play large school, private schools, tech schools.. have play book will travel. This year alone they played Crockett(D3) Airport(D3) Milan(D3) DDC(D3)and so on and so on. They also beat Airport by 18 who beat Bedford by 5 who beat AAP by 7 who beat Inkster by 3 and Chelsea by 36. What this means is SMCC could compete angainst ANYONE…. and they do.

  6. School enrollement places you in the division you belong in. SMCC's puts them in D6. Now going back to your statement, SMCC did play 9 schools in higher divisions and went 8-1. 3 of those wins came against playoff teams.. they trounced Airport 40-22, beat Milan 28-14 and dominated DDC 32-16. You were saying? How bad did Chelsea beat Airport? Was it by more than 18? Im pretty sure it went into OT, SMCC didnt need OT to beat Airport, they beat them by 3TD's. Anything else on your mind?

  7. so anonymous at 725am. u think we should have one division in football? hudson against novi cc? egr against flat rock? the league is not just about any team, its just that some get better prepared for playoffs. in past years, when cc made runs, many times they were physically handled by other league teams. it got them ready. its up to some large schools in league to schedual better non-conference, or leave the league. but personally, i love all the rivalries. airport/jefferson, huron/flat rock, cc/everyone.

  8. Im just saying i didnt know the huron league was all about SMCC playing in division 6 where all the teams in the huron league would make a run…. I would wanna see SMCC play Chelseas nick hill or adrian or dewitt or orchard lake st. marys or East Grand Rapids

  9. you could of still at least posted the all region players in the huron league and let people comment and i agree with the 6 quarterbacks being to much… Daniel Jones? all region NO WAY

  10. I thought the Monroe News did a nice job of covering those.

    Why else would I comment?

I thought 7 Bedford players was a stretch but with 40 or so players picked maybe not.

I thought 6 quarterbacks was a bit much.

  11. Should be a good one. To all the SMCC Falcons (especially the Seniors)-Enjoy the ride, the experience and don't put too much pressure on yourselves; Eat right, get lots of rest and stay physically and mentally sharp this week. Stay away from anyone that might be sick and drink lots of fluids. Above all, remember this time for what it is-a great high school experience that you will look back on fondly, but an experience that will not define any of you in 25 days, let alone 25years-so enjoy it all. LET US PREY

  12. The SJV was a decent league made up of small C/D schools to include Mendon and Schoolcraft. Not quite the caliber league as the Huron made up of 6 B, 1 A and SMCC. I look for SMCC to step on the throats of Constantine from start to finish. I wonder if Jack will bring up 2004?
