riverview's student section is the best ever! i looove all my seniors we know how to have a good time and keep it rowdy. if we dont have a good football team atleast we have a good student section. no other school can compare to us bc were one of a kind! gooo pirates!

Yep Riverviews baseball coach did come from SMCC, in fact we have a few Coaches and teachers from there bit they sure are sporting Maroon and Gold and doing it proudly!!! They are Pirates!!!!

I guess a better strategy would have been saying, "I just don't have any idea how many students attend Flat Rock." By using the number 700, we all seem to think that you implied the number was somewhere near 700.
Being off by 15% isn't the worst sin you could have comitted, but somehow thinking you are in any way intellectually superior is probably a big mistake.

GI #27 didn't play in the Huron game, it showed via the ground game and the offense was absent. No excuse, just a counter-point.

To comment on the Riverview fans: Inappropriate? NO. Rowdy? YES. They are trying to get excited. They are trying to pump the team up. They are trying to help out any way that they can.
Now to answer the "BS" chant against CC. It was in response to a HORRIBLE call. I think that even the officials own mother would have been in the chant. The refs in the riverview/CC game were horrible for both teams. The only good thing is that they were consistently horrible.
Although, I did not see any "chest bumping" in the stands.
As for the Riverview GI game. What a second half of football. I hate to see my team lose, but they did not go down without a fight.

This may be the funniest post ive ever seen. hey just so we know smcc hasnt lost a league game in 2 years since jefferson in 08. they run the power T therefore they have plenty of chances to knock people on the butt for you. If you are running the power T and cant lower a shoulder every now and then. 1. being the smallest school in the league, wins would be minimal and hard to come by 2. Youre just wrong, and that is why they are 45-7 in league play since installing the offense in 2003. haha
I agree with SITOFN and the GI Defense…. Many players not seeing the field. Keep it fresh since we will need it next week.
We have enough O to keep us in the game every week, but Milan will pound our D like no other.
Our O has a new look. Totally kept the view guessing on which way the ball was coming. If we needed yards we will be able to get them on the ground or in the air. In my opinion #27 carried the game. Milan will be our biggest test so far this year.
Flat Rock's enrollment sits at 598, up 100 from 2003. Good sign for the Rams. Most schools are declining in numbers and they seem to be on the rise.

No I would not waste my time attempting to scroll through your sideline, nor would I approach each individual kid and ask what class he is, and even though CC doesn't have a field of their own they have invested in STATE OF THE ART MODERN TECHNOLOGY called a ROSTER. Cmon now, you pay 8000.00 dollars for an education….USE IT! I also believe FR has around 450 students in which we pull a total of 40-50 players each year between jv and varsity. 10% of the total….not that bad but could be better.

Also, the nature of SMCC would lend itself to the fact that more students would be involved and more would be student-athletes than at Flat Rock. People who pay tuition are most definitely going to have students who are more involved, nothing wrong with that, just a fact.
Flat really seems in a down cycle right know when you look at football, and basketball. Lots of public schools go through up and down cycles.
FR will see better days.

What's up with all of the parents posting this season? It sure has gone up from last year. Complaining about the coaches, players, fans, student sections, 'chest bumps', etc… For real your years of HLF is over so let's not talk through our kids here moms and dads.

CC had what looked like 54 players on their sideline, and I believe only 1 soph on their roster, so even if all starters were pulled which are probaly seniors, still leaves about 27 juniors playing against our 20 total,mainly sophomores. Point being, don't break your arm patting yourself on your back.

That's funny. More than half of CC's starters on the baseball team are starters on the football team. so they have most likely put your son on his butt, or will be in the near future.
To the person who posted about smcc's baseball team being rude (or whatever was said) many of the baseball players play football so your son either has had or will have ample chance to knock them on their asses as you put it. Relax your kid is playing the sports now not you. Let them enjoy THEIR high school experience you had your chance.
I have talked to many of SMCC's rival school players, they are all good kids. It is a rivalry, period nothing else. I wish them all luck just not when they play my sons team. Be realistic it is just high school sports it will be over and meaningless after their senior year. Then true life kicks in, your school from which you graduate will NOT matter.
Riverview should actually win a football game to help out their intense student section.
i go to riverview, i was at that game. we were absolutely wrecking gi's crowd, i didnt even notice they had a student section. yes, we were losing. yes, we lost. so? we're supportive, and we go straight crazy at football games. everyone in our student section is crazy, freshman-seniors. we all had no voices left, literally. chants – started by freshman-seniors. im proud to go riverview, and you can rest assured that our student section is and will be the best this year. i personally lost my voice before the 3rd quarter ended.

The GI AD doesn't make any decisions. Any direction comes from above. If the superintendent told the AD to tell the team to lay off the chest bumping then the coach might have a problem.
But if the parents want the chest-bumping, then the Super will relent and we have chest-bumping for all, win or lose.
But yes, there is a definite lack of communication. And a definite lack of discipline. But who really pulls the strings?

Riverveiw has one hell of a student section! Megaphones, beads, babypowder, chants… everything that an awesome croud should have, they have! Now if their football team could help them out…
Airports Derek Andersons single season record of 1,840 yards rushing set in 1999 may be broken this year. Although in his career he had about 5,000 yard rushing total so the career rushing record will probably be safe for quite some time.
The real question is if those priests were doing chest-bumps. I wonder if the bishop sent them a memo telling them to chill out on having too much fun at the game.
To the Bump o meter post. I bet the a.d. told the coach not to have the players out there chest bumping. Then the coach told the players that they shouldn't. BUT they still did and those players were not benched. AD and admin. should come down on coach and players for not following orders. Again it comes down to coaching and when they don't follow the rules why should the players.

They're still 3-1. Old man will work on that defense and figure out where the mistakes are being made, and who's not pushing the ball backwards. After monday's video procession, the defense will get switched up.
correction on smcc…The starting defense was pulled after the first quarter.. and only put in for 2 more series in the third one series was a one play fumble and the other was a 7 play punt….

the airport vs. milan game was amazing. best high school football game ive ever seen. idk what the hype was about leo pittman. he didnt do much. i was impressed though with joe dunn. he ran the ball hard. but not as hard as airport jodeci mays. he read the field very well and made some big plays. easily the biggest threat in the huron league. airports defense could of been a little better but overall very good game. Milan/Airport was one great football game. Both teams played huron league football and smashed each other in the mouths all night long. If you could give a W out to both teams, this would be one of those games. Congrats to Airport, and we should have a fun 3 way battle for the rest of the year in the league.

Huron is for real this year!
riverviews student section is rude and unsportsman like. when smcc played them last week they kept yelling bull**** at the players and the calls on the field. I cant believe they are able to act that way. They should get some sort of punishment for acting like that and from the sounds of the previous poster they were no different this week.

Airport-Milan was one for the ages. I have followed Airport football for a long time, and Jodeci Mays has to rate as the best back in school history. The way he has carried this young team has been unbelievable. Airport got a gift when #7 dropped what woulda been the game winner with 3 seconds left, he was so open it was crazy. That's the way the ball bounces I guess.

Looks like the Airport, Milan game was an awesome one! Anyone have any details yet??? One thing is for sure, it looks like the league title will come down once again this year to the Airport/SMCC game this year!!!! I think SMCC prevails in that game because I don't think the Jets will be able to stop them.
