SMCC/Ypsilanti

SMCC (6-2) is coming off of a win over Jefferson 29-24 while Ypsilanti (1-7) is recovering from a 26-14 loss to Ypsi Lincoln. These teams haven’t played in the last 60 years.

SMCC could wrap up a playoff home game with a victory. Pick: SMCC 34 Ypsi 12

  1. I disagree with that. Parents are parents. They are virtually the same at every school. There are many good and some bad. SMCC isn't different than any other school.

  2. Even though this thread is dead, I would like to respond to the 2:39 poster. It is impractical and stupid to measure a team when they play Detroit P.E.C. and Huron. No disrespect to either team, but they are not one of the stronger ones in the lead. I feel like that after the Grosse Ile game, Coach G and the staff figured it out and put people in the right places. Besides Milan (which was a game they were clearly outmatched), they have been rolling. I am so sick of people thinking that because they have been going to the games for X amount of years, that they are all of a sudden an expert on managing players and the X’s and O’s. That includes all the “coaches” in the SMCC stands I hear yelling “throw a pass”, or “why is he running this play”. Being a SMCC grad, and also in the stands this year, I agree with the general population of this blog that SMCC has the worst parents. We have more parents worried about poor Johnny rather than the team. That is just selfish. I am calling out all of the SMCC parents. If you send your kid to SMCC, is selfishness and irrationalness some of the qualities that you would want your kid to be taught? I hope you realize that your kid will have more memories being a part of something great rather than being set up for failure. Be careful before you drive probably the best coach you’ve had out of town.

  3. SMCC should win if the coaches use the kids correctly. Yes they won their last few games but they have not been the strong team they started off as when the season started. I dont know if he changed his line up or if the kids have just lost the drive but what ever it is I hope they can get it back. I have enjoyed watching them play as a team for the last 15 years and have enjoyed the tight bond that the team shares.
