  1. Nope not clueless on Robb… Kalb was going to step down if he got principal job (or new position) and Robb would have taken over…that is insider information and from some of the kids on the team as well…he wasn't just defense coach…his influence on the kids and the offense input was substantial…view the old films and you can see it first hand on the sidelines

  2. You said they trash talk and are rude. Now your saying it's back talk to the coaches? You sit behind them every game? Freshmen, JV and varsity?

I coached four years (2010-2013) of track there. I never had a problem with any kid.

Sure you aren't just telling stories?

  3. Get closer to the field and listen to the back talk to the coaches. Its not just in football its all their sports.

  4. Steve Robb did help out with Huron last year on Defense but how much was that a factor. They had a great O and D line. They ran spread last year as well as now and he has always been an I guy. Think you are looking for answers. Maybe its because Huron has the least discipline kids in the league. At all levels. They do the most trash talking and are the rudest.

    1. The job has never been open. Steve Rob was still in high school when Kalby took the program over. The poster of that comment is clueless lol

  5. The big difference for Huron is one man……..coach rob…..he should have got the head coaching job…..biggest mistake ever made in Huron history period!

  6. GI people winning its all about football but when they are losing its we are better than you. We expect no less of you.

  7. How about that steam rolling from Huron KC.

Also the whole "rematch View would win" is false. Huron and Riverview last year duked it out in league play an left it close. 24-20; their rematch in the playoffs was a blow out 40-21. But what do I know. CC has already steam rolled most of the contending league except for Milan yet. They would certainly steam roll View once more.

    1. Did you even read the entire paragraph? Or just copy and paste what I wrote with a snide, off topic comment pasted to the top?

  8. Riverview already talking about next year. What a joke. They will be watching Huron and SMCC from behind. Your record on jv means nothing. A d3 team talking smack. Lol

  9. Seems the excited riverview JV player or dad has watched too much JV football and not enough varsity. Like the enthusiasm, but unless the entire O line falls to pieces in Milan, I'm seeing it very difficult to stop Barnes and Lindeman in their Sr years. Stay optimistic though, I know your working hard !

  10. That is so funny 10:08 MJ. That formula took you pretty far last year. The difference this year is your line. They are not bad now, but they were great last year! They have multiple ways of using exactly what you despise to beat all HL teams but once again when up front is not as tough its a scheme issue. Can't wait to hear how horrible the T is when CC's talent runs thin.

    1. It was very bad for GI. QB had an off night. Milan just shut everything down. No disrespect to GI but they just ran into a better team.

    2. We don't need a win to have a great homecoming. We're more than content with our swimming pools and movie stars here on Fantasy Island, but thanks for thinking of us!

  11. Calling it now….look for Riverview to lead the league next year. The juniors who are playing on Varsity biding their time, and the Sophomores leading JV will rock it next season. They had one loss last year playing Huron, and they won't be a problem next season. This is a very dedicated group of boys, willing to put the work in off season. These boys will run the league and go far into States. Can't wait to shut all the View haters down. Go Bucs!!!

    1. Ummm. I don't see many "View haters" on this blog. And why you worried about next year? You guys could still conceivably make a run this year. EM

  12. We are still talking about last year? Well in his prime Sugar Ray Leonard would have beaten
Money Mayweather as would have Marvin Hagler and Thomas Hit man Hearns.

  13. Since when do you get judged by style points of who you play in the playoffs. Huron deserved what they got last year regardless of who they played.its never enough for some you guys.

  14. Huron is obviously a better program than they have been. They have big and fast kids. Have a little league football program that is paying off. What happened to them? Is it the coaches? Are they overrated? I think the quarterback was not what the hype was ( at least for the one game I seen). Chris, you know this team better than most.

    1. Wait a minute, now. There were many who were ready to crown the Chiefs this season based on last year's accomplishments, and a lot more were quick to discount SMCC for the same reasons. Am I wrong?

  15. Milan totally shut GI down. They had 1 first down in the first half. The pass defense was outstanding. The biggest gain GI had was about 6 yards at most in the first half. Back ups played 2nd half. Team D was fast and so was the O. Can't say enough on how this team is playing right now.
Now on to week 7 and the League title is on the line. With a win next week Milan controls the league and makes the play offs. This with out a doubt is the game of the week. Should be a great game, I know it will be.

  16. JV football is too hard to determine who is actually "really good". A lot of the JV teams are made up of Freshmen. So if you have a team with mostly Sophmores playing a team of mostly Freshmen it's too hard to tell who's "really good" and who's "really bad".

  17. Huron playbook is from the little league

    "Go for the bomb"
    "QB keeper"
    "Off taclkle"
    Rinse and repeat

Vertical passing game? In that wind? You almost NEVER see crossing routes or the TE in the passing game. No plan whatsoever. What is the press box watching? Seinfeld reruns?

Worst predictable play calling I have ever seen last 4,weeks.
    MJ

  18. No doubt Huron was way overrated. Last years easy road through the playoffs ( easiest in state ) helped fuel this belief.

  19. I don't believe FR was out coached. Coaching has little, if anything to do with turnovers, and if my memory is correct, FR had 5. In fact, I'd say the coaching was pretty good when the defense was on the field much of the second half due to turnovers, and only gave up 6 points. Hard fought game, with the better team winning on this particular night. Congratulations Bears!

    FR Dad

    1. I'm not a football person, just an aunt of a player. How do D6 vs D4 games happen? Seems a bit lopsided? One division off, not so much, but 2? Not complaining, legitimately asking as I really do not know if this normal?

  20. Jefferson looked good tonite. I know it was against Flat Rock, but they didn't hurt themselves today. Less turnovers, Less penalties, defense had 4 or 5 takeaways. 2 at very critical times.

Flat Rock had several personal fouls again. JV team was same way. Got to work on that.

    Good Job Bears.

    1. JV bears had more personal fouls and a kid getting tossed due to hitting. Our 2nd team had most of the penalties for Rams since they had a big lead.

  21. The refs were fine but as long as huron has Kalby on the sidelines your team will never reach its full potential. The difference between this years huron team and last years is the offensive and defensive lines, riverview dominated up front tonight.

    1. I don't believe it's the coach. I think you are right about the O & D line. They are missing the likes of Krug, McKay and Vukas. Not to mention 2 of the best blocking wideouts I've ever seen. Hard to move the ball when you can't win in the trenches or get a block down field.

  22. Should be a great game next week.. Can Smcc contain the speed of Milan? Can Milan stop Smccs offense from taking to much time off the clock?

    1. You want an honest opinion? They won. But by a margin of 15? For as hype as some fan blew them up to be, I expected a higher scoring offense but they were the better team. My expectations for Huron were high; still will be. But they'll have week 10 to sit out and look at the direction they need to go to get it back and rolling. I'll be a fan win or lose. I'd like to see more wins than losses but it happens. Congrats bucs. Good luck in the playoffs this year!

      KC

  23. SMCC and Milan take care of business in impressive fashion to setup a battle of heavyweights next week in Milan. EM

  24. By the looks of the score; it's a well faught game. Huron defense needs to keep it up and offense just needs to push a little more.

    KC
