Milan 2017 Preview and Prediction

Milan enters the 2017 season as defending co-champs of the Huron League. Coach Jesse Hoskins is entering his 7th year as head coach at his alma mater. The Big Reds return 6 starters on each side of the ball.

Junior quarterback D.J. Jones will lead the Milan offense this season. Junior RB Hunter Aeschbacker will join Jones in the backfield. The offensive line is led by Wisconsin commit Michael Furtney, he will be joined by senior Ben Pyle and sophomore Sam Lewallan.

Last season, Milan gave up just 16 ppg. The defense will by led by sophomore DB Tristen Hines along with senior DT Justin Beck and sophomore DT Cray Pennington. Adam Rowland will play linebacker while Victor Knight will play DB.

Coaches’ Thoughts: “The Huron league is always relatively balanced. The coaching changes should keep everyone on their toes”.

Milan should be considered the Huron league favorite with all they return from 2016. While depth could be somewhat of a problem this season, look for the defense to be stingy again and the offense just good enough to lead Milan back to a league title and the playoffs.

Chris’s Pick: Huron 6-1, Overall 7-2

Gary’s Pick: : Huron 6-1, Overall 7-2

  1. MILAN HAS LESS THAN TWENTY PLAYERS ON THERE ROSTER. THAT INCLUDES THREE INJURED AND FOUR SOPHOMORES, BUT THEY ALWAYS FIGURE AWAY TO GET IT DONE WITH COACHING AND TALENT.
