Week 7 Video Picks

Watch as Chris and Gary make their Week 7 Picks and discuss the games. Last week Chris was 8-1 on his picks while Gary finished at 7-2. This should be an interesting week as the two differ on a handful of outcomes.

  1. Huron? The Train 🚂 has left the station! cho0-Cho0! Them Spiess kids going to have a hard time impressing any college's with O-Line blocking like that! Sad Huron never even got close enough to show of there kicker.

  2. GI will beat Milan and here's why; GI has a very underrated defense. GI's D-Line is quick and can stop Milan's read-option with Hines. Milan is just too banged up and GI plays very well at home. Both teams will have trouble scoring. Final; GI 15 Milan 12

  3. SMCC will beat Airport and here's why; SMCC is in full playoff run now. Airport is not the same team without a healthy Foor. Watch for a sloppy field with possible rain. I see a total domination here. SMCC 48 Airport 14

  4. Flat Rock will beat Jefferson and here's why; Flat Rock knows how to beat the T, they've already beaten Riverview. Jefferson does not have the talent of Riverview. Flat Rock knows they need this game to make the push into the playoffs. They've adjusted to life without Tayeb. Watch for a heavy dose of Dotson running the read option. Final: Flat Rock 26 Jefferson 15

  5. Huron will beat Riverview and here's why; Huron's D-line and linebackers are big and aggressive. They will neutralize Riverview's T attack. Riverview does not play as well as Huron in space. Huron should be able to pound inside, as well as force Riverview to chase in open space. Riverview has a tough hard nose team that will not go away easily, but in the end Huron will prevail. Final: Huron 31 Riverview 19

  6. Gary stay away from the bar at the hotel before you make your picks…..FLATROCK walks over the bears……GOODTIMES

  7. #21 & #22 for Riverview are gonna pound Huron all night. Lots of ice bags I guess. Has anybody else noticed how a lot of injuries happen after playing Riverview?? They're tough!!

  8. Flat Rock wins by 3 tds GARY. Only reason Jefferson won last year with one of the best teams they have had in years is because it was a mud pit at Jefferson. Flat Rock has plenty of depth on both sides of the ball after seeing Tayeb missing last week to replace him.

  9. Beaudrie kid is good don't get me wrong. The question is will they ever win? He's set up perfectly to have nice stats and we know the reason for that. Putting up stats won't mean anything until they win. (And beat Ida)

  10. The only week you will see FR fans rooting for Huron!!!! Go Chiefs! Another big week for the FR defense!!! GO RAMS!

  11. Riverviews perfect little 1 loss season is about to come to an end. Enjoy it for 1 more day! #33 and #40 for Huron are going to pound you all night. Get the ice bags ready!!!!💪

  12. Great Job Chris and Gary!! You must have very understanding spouses for all the time you put into the blog….ive seen Gary's wife, damn she's fine….you out did yourself.

  13. Not bashing coaches, all are doing a great job, just saying. Agree no need to chase.
Thanks for your BLOG, will continue to follow.

  14. Not hard sending an email. Getting a response from everyone is hard.

We have one coach who send us stats every week. We asked once at the beginning of the year and he sends them every week. I'm not begrudging the coaches, the have enough to do, but I am not going to chase.

Could I ask every week and get more than one? Probably, but what would stats from 3 or 4 actually do?

  15. Beaudrie kid is a stud! Watched him a few times, will be exciting to watch over the years to come, but agree wow just a freshman.

  16. Riverview's defense played just fine against Airport. A lot of Airports TD's were long passes against an aggressive defense. Gonna be a fun game to watch. 2 very aggressive defenses, an unstoppable offense in Riverview, and a high powered offense in Huron (as long as they're clicking). Huron's offense will have to keep up.

  17. Stats are for the newspaper anyhow. If you put stats on here you would have parents blogging about why their little all-star only had so many yards because the coaches didn't give him the ball enough. The recognition you guys give is spot on for what info you're given. You guys probably spend 40 hours a week working on this blog as it is. Keep doing what you're doing. It's good stuff!!

  18. Some thoughts and why doesnt FNV add stats on this great site? Where can we as fans start our own thread?
Just was looking through Monroe County Stat leaders. Love the article, congrats to all top performers, gonna be a great finish before playoffs. I noticed a few things I wanted to point out and get some comments started. With some new coaches, same offenses, same results and sticking to what works! Ida 3 backs have 705,626,430. Summerfield another top qb 879. Whiteford big again Murphy 823, Eitnear 409 ground,567 air. Mason QB? Isn't he a freshman? 683 air,458 ground, leads all in total yardage 1141? Love the 2 Monroe backs. Miller, Dundee a beast, needs help. Carlson backs 678,407,353. BUT big 375 in 27 passes, huge for Giarmo. Bedford? Where are the stats?
Good luck to all teams in week 7, keep fighting bears!!

  19. Riverview is a tough football team. I saw them play Airport but the defense did not play well. However I think that Huron is finally going to get it together this week.I think they have not played up to their potential. I say Huron wins this close one.

  20. I think due to SMCC's constant success it has created a rivalry with almost every school. Airport/SMCC rivalry was really created during Redmond days. Jefferson/SMCC rivalry has been forever but at its best during the 90's early 2000's. Milan/SMCC probably has a nice rivalry right now. Congrats to SMCC for being the most hated which also means if you weren't any good these rivalries wouldn't be around.

  21. Riverview is kind of quiet on the blog this week. Must be nervous about Friday. JD, Adam, choo choo guy, "Where For Art Thou"?

  22. When I went to Jefferson we played SMCC in week 8 for the Huron League Championship. We were both 6-0 in league play. We lost on a last second play. I would've rather lost every game and beat them than go 6-1 and finish 2nd. It's not a rivalry-it's pure hatred.

  23. Jefferson doesn't use hanging banners that say BEAT SMCC, they are permanent plaques, boards and framed posters that say BEAT SMCC.

  24. Interesting…Mr. Chris picks Huron over Riverview…but we should all have noticed…there was an anchor on his shirt…what made him put that shirt on today?? What does that mean?? As we all know, Mr. Gary for sure…Pirates are Sailors…tough, rugged, Sailors…pegged legs, eye patches and a hook for a hand…these kids are coming to play. I think Mr. Chris really in his heart is picking the boys dressed in maroon and gold that hang out on Longsdorf St….and NOT the Huron Chiefs. It's time to Batten down the hatches.

And for you Mr. Gary…are the Bears really that hungry?? Nahhhhhhh…they won't be eating at the RAM'S Horn this week. SMCC is their rival…they probably have BEAT SMCC banners hanging in the halls already.

    Oh and…GO WHITEFORD!!!

  25. Milan/Airport is a toss up. So there could potentially be an ugly 4 way Huron League Champion? I don't see it happening but that would be crazy.

    The Troll

  26. Chris and Gary-does Milan have a chance to finish with only 2 losses in the league as well? My thoughts are Huron beats Riverview this Friday then Flat Rock beats Huron next week for the 3 way tie but who does Milan have left to play?

    The Troll

  27. Gary loved Flat rock till they beat his SMCC homeboys and now back to back games since CC he has picked against the rock. I don’t get it. Flat Rock very focused this week, will win by double digits.
