Football Wish List

As the Christmas season is upon us I caught a glimpse of the wish list that was given to Santa via the league schools.

Airport is seeking a new coach half as good as Eric Redmond was.

Flat Rock is asking for more players so depth won’t be a problem.

Grosse Ile wants a running back to replace the graduating Dex Teen.

Huron seeks a defense full of good tacklers to replace the greatest tackler in Chief history Tyler Weclowski.

Jefferson is looking for Stars that will live up to the high expectations of being a Jefferson Bear.

Milan is asking for continued success as they try and reload once again.

Riverview is seeking patience while Jeff Stergalas rebuilds the once great Pirate program.

SMCC is asking that their new backfield be capable of replacing their departing backfield.

My wish and prayer for everyone of my readers is that we all remember the “REASON for the season”, Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas everyone!

  1. You say no one can replicate SMCC's discipline, but I feel Riveriview could. Stergalas is completely capable of bringing the program back soon. Riverview just struggles from low numbers and can't seem to..convert.. players like SMCC can

  2. I see no player from Huron doing what weclowski was able to do… some can try which will help out but there is only one Weclowski

  3. chris, maybe since its the season of christmas, you can give out presents/awards to the players.
give the three finalist like the ncaa does and then give the winner with a buzz. fr example

Jim Thorpe Award (best defensive back)

    Eric Berry, Tennessee

    Joe Haden, Florida

    Earl Thomas, Texas

Buzz: Berry is one of the hardest hitters in the country.

i think this woul be a great think.
to show. since it is the off season.

    here are the awards..

    -Disney Spirit Award:

-Home Depot Coach of the Year Award:

-Chuck Bednarik Award (best defensive player)

    -Lou Groza Award (best kicker)

    -Ray Guy Award (best punter)

    -Maxwell Award (best all-around player)

    -Davey O'Brien Award (best quarterback)

    -Outland Trophy (best interior lineman)

-Jim Thorpe Award (best defensive back)

-Doak Walker Award (best running back)

  4. Airpot will have a hard time replacing Redmond with a true leader.

Flat Rock small district will keep it from getting depth.

Grosse Ile has a back or two that are capable of of replacing Teen with their own style.

Weclowski will be missed but there is a chance for 2 players to step up and somewhat replace him

Jefferson will not have the stars this year but possibly by next to get things back.

Milan has the size, but will be tough reloading with true athletic ability

Riverview is the wildcard that should have a suprise or two.

SMCC will be at the top of the league again this year with the team disipline that all the other teams in the league cannot duplicate.

Merry Christmas to all and we cannot wait for this next season. Keep up the great blog! This blog shows many facts that the Huron League breeds the best, toughest players pound for pound and lessons learnd will lead all these young men from no matter what school to become our future leaders!

  5. Well only 2 of the 4 teams have reasons to be talking about being good next year because all we've been hearing for the past 3 years is that this will finally be the year G.I. returns to Huron League glory or this is the year Huron will turn things around. All talk and no production. Maybe less talk and more action.

  6. Has anyone noticed that its always the same people from the same teams posting on here. GI, CC, Airport and Huron. Rarely see posters from Milan, Jefferson, Riverview, and Flatrock.

    What does that tell you?
