  1. good call on the win huron league and i believe you have good objectivity and predictions.. but thats just my opinion of a former player. #swag

  2. I'll say this, this is my 3rd year doing the blog and basically I have been the track coach the whole time. I am a paid (ads) professional. I have to be objective. If you don't think I am please point it out and I will comment.

How about we ask the readers about my objectivity? I think you'll get a fair answer.

By the way I picked SMCC to beat Huron in a close game and it was six points.

  3. I think the personnel that Huron has is good. Frayer seems to take one side of the field away. Copley is a beast at NG. The LB's fill the holes well. Zajac and Curnett both have good speed. The DB's have good speed and tackle well.

  4. Just a few thoughts. Both SMCC and Huron have solid teams. SMCC has a good defense. Their offense had some timing issues mainly because Huron's Marcus Copley was blowing up CC's center nearly every play after the first CC drive.

Neither team has a star or stud that can lift them at this point. Each team has a few players that might fill that need. Most likely Lehman for SMCC and Crespi for Huron.

I said this last week and I'll say it again this week. This is the best Huron defense during Kabby's tenure.

I'll also toss this out there. SMCC is still the favorite to win the league. They WILL get better every game.

  5. 11:43 poster if you want entertainment then go to the games. If a player has a decent input on a post then that's fine, but complaining about games and refs is childish. I don't know how people don't see that.

  6. Now that Huron put up a fight against CC the first things everyone says is that CC must be an average team this year and that they "have some holes to fill" did any of you think that Huron might just be a pretty good team this year? I guess this game shows that CC must be average because they almost lost to another old "Huron" team.

  7. FLAT ROCK NEEDS TO THROW THE FOOTBALL,4 MINUTES BEFORE HALF TIME BEFORE THEY PASS,WAY TO CONSERVATIVE WITH THE PLAYBOOK

  8. From a Riverview fan: The year was 2009, SMCC got beat by Detroit Crockett week 1 and in week 2 had a very close game to Riverview 17-10. The last game that CC lost was in the State Championship game that year. I am not saying that CC is as good as their 2009 team, but the Falcons have done this before. I am not jumping on the CC band wagon, I am just saying that they are not going to be push overs all year.

  9. As a Flat rock parent I can honestly say that the refs had absolutely nothing to do with the oucome of the game. GI came out pumped after the half and FR came out flat… again. GI promptly added 27 points in the 3rd quarter. I don't know what those coaches are doing in the locker room at half time but they might want to try something else.

  10. Sounds like Flat Rock is simply the same ol' Flat Rock. GI has some power, but we will see what happens when they are actually tested. As for CC vs Huron, I find this game very interesting. I think this shows that CC has some holes, as good as Huron is or not. It just goes to show that this league is WIDE OPEN… I know we say it every year, but its safe to say CC will be an average league team this year… Who will step up ?? –mch

  11. Thought huron would look like 4th graders to cc? Looks like it was a clos game to me. Maybe huron is that good or cc is gettin worse? How bout that Kc score aye?

    Kc

  12. Jeez its wierd Flat Rock complains about the refs for the second straight week… maybe its not the refs… maybe its the team

  13. 10:57 poster, what are you so butthurt about? The blog is fine, I hope players continue to post. It makes the blog more entertaining.

  14. Let me revise that…read all of the blog you want, just don't post anything on here. You all can still do your "posting" with your pads, so do the taking with them, not a keyboard

  15. Players, please stay off of the blog. Yes, you have the right to post what you want, but you make your team look silly with the immaturity of your posts. A win is a win and a loss is a loss…just take the outcome into next week's practices.

  16. To the 10:05 poster – What? not sure what you mean. Grosse Ile started off strong, our fumbles slowed us down. Once we came out for the second half we started to play. No clue on your ref statement. We still have a bit to work on when it comes to D but we are improved. Our O is quite a bit better than last year. Not just Kish and White. TD's were scored by them but also by Tobin, Sexton, Munoz and Nellenbach. We will see if a week on D will make a difference against SMCC next week. That will be the telling game on where we stand.

  17. Grosse Ile did NOT look very impressive…..in the first half.

The D started to show signs of old as the score was close (18-12 I think) at half and FR was totally IN THE GAME!!

GI did impress in the 2nd half as the Defense seemed to "flip a switch" and hammered FR.

O…they too hit overdrive in the 2nd half.

Moral of the story….GI will need to play the WHOLE GAME or they will be on the losing side at the half and then 2nd half heroics may not be enough.

Good win… however "very impressive"….maybe for stat watchers.

  18. Not sure who the better team was Chris. One program is use to winning and the other is still learning. Huron will get there though.
