Nice conspiracy theory. There is indeed 254 teams in football. SMCC just so happens to fall into the top enrollment of D6 which potentially puts 95 schools smaller than them and 160 schools above them.
The difference for volleyball is that Ida and Dundee are class B along with Adrian. Adrian's enrollment is 872 while Dundee's is 476 and Ida's is 503. Class B is from 449-910. 190 schools fall into Class B.
Current SMCC enrollment is 437. Current cut-off is 449. This is for the classes A,B,C,D.
Football playoff divided differently top 256 teams divided into 8 divisions of 32. No-way SMCC is below 160 in state to allow them to play in Division 6. Should be 3 or 4 at least. Football dividing goes by wins and point value. NOT enrollment.
There are many skeptics out there as to how this is done, Volleyball is same kind of thing, How does Dundee and IDA end end in a district with Adrian, Airport and Tecumseh?? where SMCC is in a District with Erie Mason, Whiteford and Summerfield.

I didn't see any ugliness between Milan and Airport parents, unless it was toward the parking lot behind the visitor's side bleachers. I exited toward the High School and saw nothing but a bunch of relieved Milan fans and families.
The ugliness on the field, as has been noted, was due to Airport's D playing hard until 0:00 while Milan was taking a knee. This has been a contentious issue this season even in the NFL (Giants-Buccaneers) with different viewpoints being debated on the subject.
I don't know the details, but I'll thank both teams' coaches, players, and the game's officials for not allowing things to escalate to the levels that were seen in Ann Arbor two weeks ago.
At this point in the contest, the game was decided, even with 15 yards tacked on or taken away at the end. Any penalties only changed where Aceves took his final knee. As a Milan fan, I was more worried about a player getting hurt or suspended for future playoff games, or for actions of players and coaches to reflect poorly on my community.
Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed and we're left talking about a heck of a football game instead of something much worse.
If you use my silly predictions as motivation then go for it. I would really love to see all 3 teams win a title. I still think all 3 lose in the district final though.

Milan needs to really step up against Tecumseh. I wasn't at Milan/Airport game but it sounds like Milan should've scored more??? Unless Airport made a complete turn-around for playoffs. SMCC will go VERY far in playoffs. Good luck to all!
Said it last night, CP is a good football team. Better than Douglass and Pennfield last year. Strong , big and physical. It appeared to me they started to wear GI defense down in 4th quarter. Gotta do more and better with the defensive substitutions. CP had some really good players and this was a quality win for GI.
Airport played one heck of a game, just coming up a little short. Good luck to Milan, GI and CC next week. A very good chance we have 3 district champions. EM
GI game was great…CP QB is the real deal with an arm. Threw DARTS all night….didn't like contact though which makes him a low D1 (MAC) or D2 player at best. Still a great talent, possibly the best pure throwing QB I've ever seen in the preps.
GI D won the game with 4 picks and some great stops late. GI O fouled a plug in the second half and stalled badly, but moved the ball effectively in the first half.
CP was a better team than all but Marine City last year….dodged a BIG BULLET tonite.
BIG STORM BREWING ON GI, no…not the one on the east coast!!! Nuff talk about last year, I think this GI team is better than last year.

Milan drove the ball up and down the field on Airport, and the defense shut them down. Costly penalties and dropped passes hurt them in the red zone.
