Flat Rock @ Jefferson

Both teams are coming off of week four losses. Flat Rock (0-4) fell to Airport 56-21 while Jefferson (0-4) fell to Riverview 37-6.  The Bears won last season 48-13 while the Rams won the two meetings prior to that.

Flat Rock was able to put up some points last week against Airport and should most likely continue that trend this week. The defense has been porous all season, but may fair a little better against the Bears who throw the ball a little more than most.

Jefferson has struggled to score this season and has been shut out twice already. The defense has been better than last year, but has still struggled against quality opponents.

This game couldn’t have come at a better time for either team. This should be a good game and some points will most likely be scored. The Rams have lost 13 games in a row and a win would help a team that is still mourning the death of their defensive coordinator Will Mulvaney. Prediction: Flat Rock 28 Jefferson 27

  1. 10:45… a Couple of these Seniors are good athletes all these kids on the Football team that are Juniors are good Athletes. They will make a Run this year for a League Title in Baseball with 3/4 juniors guarantee. So know what your talking about before you just rip a group of kids because they are Struggling in one Sport !!

  2. Coaching you learn their is more that goes into offenses .blocking. receivers running right routes.Qb making the right decision. Jefferson offense had had to play from behind all year..makes defending easy

  3. Brandon Liparoto > Everybody! Doesn't get enough credit for being a star athlete at a school that doesn't have any athletes. That school is out to get anybody with any ability in a sport. He has put up with bad teams his whole time at Jefferson and still chose to stay there for what reason? Give respect where it's deserved!! It would have been much easier for a 17 year old to take the easy way out and go to SMCC or Monroe but he stayed true to the blue. Watch for him to be a factor tonight and for him to make an attempt at all state for basketball!

  4. Brandon Liparoto is the best player on Jefferson and one of the best in the league. He is a great receiver with good hands. Sad thing is football isn't even his best sport. He is going OFF tonight against the Rams and getting the Bears their first win. Watch for Bub to be a huge factor on defense too.

  5. Gendron moved from Head JV Coach to the Varsity staff this year. I like his attitude and his experience. Played on winning Jefferson teams in the early 00's. Played small college ball at Defiance. Seems like he's being groomed to take over the Head Coach role eventually. I don't see the current Varsity staff staying very much long-term. Gendron strikes me as a guy that can put it together.

  6. I was thinking same thing CoachTom. 27 points in 4 games with 2 shutouts? The forementioned best QB and WR's in the league should do better

  7. Jefferson will b ready offense should be cleaner defense work in progress very young .team juniors at skilled position..second level on defense why to many tackles d line linebackers must do better job

  8. Cheers, cheers for ol' Flat Rock High

Our green and gold is floating on high

    Onward, onward, always fight

We'll beat our foes with all of our might

Block that kick and hold that line

We will be fighting all of the time

Spirit ahead with a one, two, three

    And lead us to victory!

  9. Boy this is tough. I want to see both teams get a win. I am leaning towards Jefferson because they play better defense. Seems FR's offense is ok. They do say offense wins game and defense wins championships. Should be a goond one.

  10. New offensive coordinator at Jefferson? How can you put in a new offense mid season? Or is a new guy calling the plays? I can't see a new offense because I've seen them in spread and power I…they run everything as it is lol

  11. After seeing both teams play this year, I think this will be a great game to watch. Both Jefferson Receivers are talented and fast. Sovey and Jefferson's defense could have some fun this week. Flat Rock's Dontrell Hampton is really quick and is very talented in the open field. Great prediction, could go either way.

  12. Well playing an emotional team is hard. We learned that last year With Bedford. I wish the Rams luck and if they do win I will be happy for them. But I also would like to see our boys get some Confidence!! I really think the Jefferson Offense will hit stride this week, Well I hope

  13. The Bears have a new offensive coordinator. He was in the program already. He will lay down the law. Things should improve on offense.

Losing a coach is a tough thing.
Rams players and coaches are in our prayers. Bears still win though.

    BEARS 35, RAMS 17

    1. The game is never played on paper.. It's played on the grid iron, where the tough team comes out Victorious! Which is gonna be Flat Rock this week!

    2. With passing Jefferson has.little run this offense is better than last year be careful flat rock.Qb receivers best in league bears 28 rock 13
