Grosse Ile @ Flat Rock

Both teams are coming off of lopsided shutout losses last week. Grosse Ile (1-1) was beaten by Huron 35-0 while Flat Rock (0-2) lost 42-0 to SMCC. Grosse Ile won last season’s game 42-7 and have the last five in the series.

Flat Rock was fortunate to get out of the SMCC game with no injuries and should be fully healthy on Friday. Dontel Hampton will once again lead the Ram offense while Eric Antolak leads the defense.

The big concern this week for GI is whether senior QB Andrew Mitroka will be available or not. If he doesn’t play the Red Devils will be led by sophomore Justin Moores. The defense will also led by a sophomore in defensive lineman Dominic Trombley.

This match up totally changes if Mitroka is out of the lineup. The Rams could keep it close if he is out, but I see a victory for the Red Devils either way. Prediction: Grosse Ile 34 Flat Rock 14

  1. If FR cuts down the penalities they will be ok, they're just undisciplined. GI needs to do the same and cut the Turnovers..could be a good game, but GI has too much and too many weapons. All the younger moores has to do is hand off

  2. Mitroka is fine. He will more than likely rest that shoulder this week to be ready for SMCC the following. GI will be ready for FR.
